As a post-script the video should state: "As an organization, we kinda tried to screw him over, but public outcry (and the fact that Ouimet was a solid bloke) made us reverse course and recognize him as the legend he was. In return, Ouiment (again being a solid bloke) never held it against us...what a guy."
@@romancandle416 Continuing that line of thought, doesn't everyone have African ancestry going back thousands of years? He was born and raised in US, so just say he is American. He got a shot to play since he was in US rather than in Europe. His genetics are less relevant than the opportunity he had being in US.
We should make all PGA players wear long sleeve shirts and a Tie,so who was the first to wear a short sleeve collar shirt...back then some rolled up there long sleeves I notice

Watch The Greatest Game Ever Played if you haven't seen it already. Great movie!
I Watch it ever year!
It is a good movie but the book its based on is better. Disney changed a few details to make it more appealing to viewers.
I must confess I haven’t seen the movie but I read the book. It was a page turner. Well written and one of the best books I’ve ever read.
Greatest sports victory of all time
If you think about it, if it hadn’t been for Francis Ouimet, there may never have been Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods

The first U.S. Open was played in 1895. The first American to win it was John McDermott in 1911. Every Open prior was won by a Brit.
