People have to remember, and they apparently forgot all the time, that in Sims 3 you could put whatever lot you wanted anywhere basically. So yeah, there is nothing on the discovered islands but that is so that you can put whatever you want. YOU 'discovered' the island, you can put something there. In sims 4, all the special places have nothing and you have to cheat anything in, but sims 3 you can plop down a theatre or salon or put lots on it, whatever you want. My personal opinion, I think the point was to have a whole island where you could make a resort of your own as that was the focus of the pack.
The amount of detail this pack has i wish this was on island living😭
I like the semi-active lifeguard career in TS3 unlike the rabbithole version in TS4
Bruh I never play with sims 4 Lifeguard. I didn't know it's a rabbit hole career ☠️. I thought it's an active career but maybe I got switched up with the sims 3 🤣

It’s wild watching you be able to play with the base game and only 1 other expansion pack and it be a complete experience. You would need like 10 packs now a days 😂
Satch! (or anyone who’s wanting to play sims 3) advice from a sims 3 player - don’t “save” or “save and quit” it messes your save file and and can cause errors, it’s better to use “save as” (you’ll get a lot of saves on your main menu but you can just delete them)
also, for another easy help with lag - delete your cache files before launching the game and get Nrass mods (specifically error trap and overwatch)
i love this series so much right now! it haven’t had time to play my game in so long this is like a replacement

@@suan333 In addition, it is necessary to install simler90 core mod. To open one of the islands, you have to fight a shark in one of the quests, that is, provoke the shark to attack your sims, they attack when you click on them "watch the shark". I had a glitch where sharks just disappeared before attacking sims. The game just reset them. Only after installing this mod, my sims were able to fight a shark

As someone who's been playing Sims 3 for 11 years, I've never heard of this. Sims 3 is a super-janky game, that's true, but I've never had a problem saving a game as intended unless another problem was happening (I did some fucky shit in the neighborhood/with mods).
@@graquinn4058 The point is that when simply saving, the data is overwritten over the old ones in the folder, while "save as" creates a new folder for saving and anew the files from which the save is made. so the save file is cleaner and even the save time is faster

As someone who has never played the Sims 3 (I skipped from 1 straight to 4), I’m loving these videos! It’s really amazing (and a little depressing lol) to see how much richer the gameplay was compared to what we have now. Hope you keep uploading these with some of the other Sims 3 expansion packs as well! 😊
Exactly as me, from the first to forth. But I’m sold about trying Sims 3 as I just discovered that on certain sites you can get it with like a couple bucks, it’s crazy! I’m going to wait the first or second of August just to have a bit more of money before. Can’t wait ✨
TS2 and 3 weew my childhood/teenage years, I loved them! I still play the previous games from time to time since TS4 is just so depressing. It does look beautiful and I love the style of the sims but that's basically it... whenever I go "explore" their aesthetically pleasing yet gameplay-free worlds, I wanna cry, LOL 😅🙈

When you save, save always as "save as" so that the files do not get so big. It will help with the lagging! 😊

There's a mod that fixes the cave reset bug, and NRAAS can fixes the lag problem when playing the game for long time.
The Sims 3 is full of bugs, but fortunately, most of the bugs can be fixed by mods. I guess that with great power comes with great mods and fixes.
I've been kinda looking around to see what mods help make the Sims 3 more stable. I returned this pack, back in the day, because it basically broke my whole game. I've long wanted to pick the pack back up, but wondered if there were any mods to help stabilize the game once this pack goes in.

oh yeah the teleport out of cave glitch was so annoying. I don't remember exactly if it solved but i read that if you went into edit town and deleted and replaced all the caves, the glitch would go away. This pack is so bloody broken it's impossible to go 5 minutes without encountering some game breaking bugs.
Sad that this pack was just too ambitious for the time it was made in because if it was fully functional it would be a solid 10/10
Yeah, it broke my game so bad I returned it, at the time, and got the entirety of TS2 by way of apology from Maxis. XD I still want this pack, but I need to look for mods to fix it.

I have a vague memory of this underwater cave that if you click explore cave when the tentacle is poking out of the hole, or just after it disappears you get something special... like maybe a new exit or a new island, or some treasure. Does anyone remember this?

Island Paradise was my favourite pack! And the world... I had a family of mermaids living on a houseboat XD. I was probably super lucky that it didn't break the game for me back then. I didn't even know how much hate this pack gets for being "broken" until i saw the reviews on steam and i was like "wtf, i never had issues with it 😳". Good old times, lol 😆

⚠️ Unpopular Opinion Ahead: I really like the pack, I think there's a lot of off the wall things to do and I love how you can influence the outcome of the future. Besides, I bet the Jones family would make for some great descendants that you could visit! 😂

I’m really enjoying your sims 4 horse ranch series right now but I’d also love to see another sims 3 playthrough! As someone who has barely scratched the surface of TS3, it’s so cool to see how great of a game it is. It might also be helpful if you had some mod suggestions for TS3 if you use them

I remember Island Life basically ruined my WHOLE TS3 experience, and I was real mad and returned it not long after I got it, back when it was new...which is a bummer, because I have all the other packs, and I really wanted the island world! But hey, the GM that dealt with me gave me the whole TS2 collection by way of apology...back when they gave a shit, and cared about customers, lol! It's tempting to pick this pack up again, but I would need to look and see if there's any mods that help fix what this pack breaks.

you inspired me to buy this dlc(making use of steam's summer sale, that is) only to find out, the game refuses to function, at all, when playing it lol (altho i did have other 10 dlc installed on top of it)
freezing continuously, and when i tried uninstalling the other dlcs, and running the game, it just won't run either. until i install all of them back, which we already stablished doesn't work lol
Yeah, those of us who picked it up when it was new could have warned anyone who wants it now...I returned it almost immediately, back in the day, bc it broke my whole game basically. I still want it...but maybe there's a mod that helps stabilize things once this pack is in? Players gotta fix the bugs, lmao.

even though i started off a sims 3 player and never got to explore more than the island paradise pack for a few months before i made myself stop playing cuz i was too obsessed, i normally can't stand watching sims 3 lps. my nostalgic side wants to, but i'm too spoiled by the superior graphics of sims 4. however, the genuine excitement and enjoyment that is evident in these videos have me totally invested... almost enough to consider going back to playing it someday... maybe i'm just biased cuz i love me some satchie?

I didnt delete the boats and my world was fixed with ellacharmed rerouted isla paradiso; and absolutely need nraas error trap (every night deletes loads of shit that accumulates in the world like stuck sims and horses that spawn boats cars etc, and overwatch another nraas mod
That makes it playable without deleting anything
the cave resetting happened for me with some caves, i think i fixed it buy deleting them and adding a new one
How I miss the underwater world. Sims 4 Island Living felt like a downgrade for Mersims.

i forgot what i use to do in here, i think i ordered bella goth, aka bella bachelor be eaten by a shark there. lol..
and btw, deleting some of your neighbhorhood houses, will also make the other non inactive sims gone. lol. cause usually i play it, and there are a lot of people. where i go, with no story progression on mod.
