The lefties love our government because they are currently: tearing down all our institutions, to replace them with "woke" ideology, while at the same time denying doing it, tearing down the family, because families are "oppressive", tearing down the differences between male and female, because "the patriarchy" is "evil". We better wake up to this and put a stop to it, because they certainly are trying to put a stop to us.

Just like Vietnam, we won that war for them, then the politicians just threw it away. Only difference is the people are not climbing the stairs to get on a helicopter to escape, they are on the runway trying to hold on to that big cargo plane to get away, and that is impossible.

I posted this elsewhere in the thread. You'll soon have to help everyone, not just vets. Thank you regardless.
"I'm a veteran. The most meaningful thing I witnessed during the whole GWOT era conflict was seeing a woman receive her first book... in a country which forbids women to get an education. America used to stand for something, even through all the politics, bureaucracy and economics. There was still a respect all over the globe that we are the epitome of freedom, taking it as far as it can go in a world of autocracies, dictators and kings.
That sentiment is gone. In the last 5 years watching America, I feel more like an enabler. I feel guilty. I feel like I gave an alcoholic money instead of food. Seeing all the woke, the protests, burnings, lootings, and every aspect of our culture at war from education to the work place, I feel I've contributed to creating that "soft men create hard times" part we are entering.
As our culture unravels, so with it the communities, families, churches and all other systems we have to keep people together, connected and safe, I am told I'm the problem. They tell me I'm a white male with privilege. I don't even tell them I'm native anymore and part of the Catawba nation. I see young men paying for the sins of generations gone by from affirmative action to DEI in the work place. I see them fully qualified and getting rejected because they have the wrong skin color or are the wrong gender to hit some magical formula of equality. They're learning from this and checking out, leaving colleges, jobs or even the planet via suicide in alarming numbers.
I fully regret having served. All I did was shield a spoiled, entitled, transgender, hateful teenage America from reality. Most Americans have no idea what a warzone will do to people. I burned everything of that life and that person is no more. What this country is about to become will shock even the optimistic of people. We aren't just tickling a society collapse, a banking collapse, a food shortage, an education crisis. We're full fledged and on purpose sending our children into a hell beyond tragedy.
And to the Afghanistan we were supposed to help, to the families clinging to the landing gear as we left, to the allies beheaded days after our evacuation... and to all the Americans who do not deserve what is about to happen... I'm sorry. I truly am."

I was an intelligence officer for an agency where I served over 6 months in a deployment to Afghanistan / Bagram in 2019. I don't deserve the praise for doing the time since I was a DoD civilian... and that's fine, but I was equally devastated on that day. I've been completely broken ever since. I have no enthusiasm for what I do, I have no more motivation, and I quit the agency because I could no longer stand to be surrounded by this every single day. I was embarrassed... I had absolute shame every day when I'd come through the gate to the office. I'd cry at my desk almost daily, and I completely broke down in front of my family. I worked so hard to become part of something that I felt was greater than myself... I was so honored to serve my country (for over a decade), and I was left feeling absolutely ashamed, embarrassed, and betrayed. I feel so petty for even feeling this way because what I feel is not even an iota of what the gold star families are feeling... those who's sacrifice can never be measured. It didn't need to end like this.

I lost a family member in Iraq under questionable circumstances. He was a Army Major and the top intelligence officer in Tal Afar Iraq in 2005/2006. He had an accidental crash at night and it was originally blamed on weather only to find out the weather was actually good. There is something much bigger going on and I don't believe it's healthy for the nation. I believe you are still part of something the nation needs, I found hard labor at work helps my anxiety and panic attacks over my uncle's death. He was the best man I've ever known. Had his master's degree at 24yrs old before joining the Army, started the first DARE program at our high school and worked in Korea and NORAD. He was a historian and the walking history book of the family. Don't give up, our nation needs people like you to get angry and work hard like Matt Gaetz and others who are standing up. You have a purpose brother, if you prayed to God to ask for help moving a mountain, be prepared to wake up next to a shovel. Feel free to call me if you ever need to vent to an ear who can understand and has overcome loss. Keep your head up brother and think big for yourself, family and the future of our nation, our children are depending on us.

War is a horrible, ugly thing, but where honor was stolen and solemn promises broken among comrades in arms revealed a fundamental failure of our leadership that showed profound disregard for our men in uniform and for those Afghans who fought valiantly beside us and treated us with a dignity that seems much misplaced. The guts it took to bare the truth of it all with humility and pain of heart, yet revealed the valor we had owned as our greatest asset was not entirely lost or left behind. In this tragedy the blessing of truth and humility so inadequately expressed in human terms from our leaders in Washington DC and at the It needed to be a thunderous applause. We are so careful, so reserved for applauding greatness while we holler our heads off cheering those who have no love for God, flag or country whose red stripes witness the blood spilled for what is being trampled underfoot was publically was 9⁹

I was a 12 year old kid when 9/11 happened. I and all of my friends were terrified. Millennials became a war time generation. As me and my friends grew I watched some go off to war in Afghanistan, I watched them change from young dumb kids to very serious, sometimes physically, all mentally injured individuals. They couldn’t come home and be the same people they were before. I listened to their experiences they wanted to share with me, and I held a few as they screamed, and cried, unable to escape the memories that haunted them. When we left Afghanistan, I listened as they shared their anger, their desperation for the people being abandoned. I’m sick over what our government did there, and over what our government has done throughout our history, always leaving the people to suffer the consequences, and people around the world left devastated by our governments actions. Let me be clear, I love this country, and it’s people, but our government is not of, by, and for the people anymore, it’s for the elite, the oligarchs, and the powerful.

But Biden said he doesn't regret how the withdrawal went, and said he wouldn't have changed anything about it! He said it was a success! He ignored all of the advice from his military advisors, and just did what he wanted to do. Joe Biden has to be the most evil man ever to occupy the White House. He is a sociopath. He has no remorse for the things he does that cause misery, injury, or death to the American people. He doesn't care how his failed, terrible policies affect others, and he doesn't care if it makes things worse for them. Everytime one of his policies, or decisions fail, and makes things worse for Americans, he ALWAYS puts the blame on someone else. Right after he was inaugurated, I mean, "installed," he said that the buck stops with him. He said that whenever something goes wrong, it will stop with him, and he will take responsibility for it, and won't blame someone else. He has yet to do that. I have never heard Biden apologize for any of the decisions he has made that had catastrophic consequences. I have never heard him take responsibility for ANYTHING. He just blames Trump, or the Republicans, or MAGA supporters. He thinks he is above the law, and that's because he has never been held accountable for ANY of the crimes he's committed, or the impeachable offenses he has committed. He has skated through life, doing whatever he wants, with impunity. Until he is held accountable, and until every other Democrat who has committed a crime is held accountable, Biden and Democrats will continue their corruption, their criminal ways, their evil deeds. I'm not too confident that the Republicans are going to hold Biden, or Hunter, or anyone else they're investigating accountable.

From within the scope of my lifetime, ever since Bush Sr took office it has been a nonstop chain of presidents, vice presidents, sec'ys of state, & other key politicians within direct personal contact of the oval office who DO NOT LISTEN to military leadership. If all these career politicians do is make critical decisions affecting everything from the security of our domestic coasts through to providing adequate force to protect instalments of our men & women in Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, etc, then there is no point to having the Joint Chiefs convene for the White House at all
They are career politicians with no military experience or training, & not even the sense to listen to those who are paid to bring that life saving wisdom to the conference table on the Day of Decision
These people who are too selfish & consumed with their own political ambition, greed, & drunkenness with power keep proving over & over again that those things are far more important to them than the lives & welfare of their fellow countrymen & taxpayers. All I see & hear from the Executive Branch anymore is hollow lip service & pursuit of self-centered ambition. The highest authority in Washington DC is money itself, & superficial appearences. It has been the death of integrity, morals, & honoring those deserving of such honor. Unless by the next presidential term, by some miracle this decades-long term pattern of spineless immoral leadership turns back to virtue & principals that ANY society must hold to to succeed, we are looking at either full scale domestic war, or else foreign invasion by an enemy who will exploit the opportunity to do so
I pray not for Washington DC, but for my law-abiding freedom loving countrymen 😪🇺🇲

@@mel3004 dude. It's been years. Anybody could have seen this coming. No marches for the people in Afghanistan, no protests, nothing. One black man in America is killed and the entire black community stands up. We KNEW this was going to happen and veterans couldn't organize a protest? Roe v. Wade gets knocked down and damn near every day a protest is held outside Congress, by people who aren't sitting on retirement pay from the government, and veterans couldn't even do that? If you want to accuse a democratic government of gross negligence, where were you when it was just a mistake? This guy had all the time in the world to raise his voice, contact his congressman and by his own account states he largely forgot and ignored Afghanistan until a week beforehand. His words, not mine. So my question is, why not do something before it hits critical mass? He didn't have strong words for the people who got us into the mess, rather one administration's application of their withdrawal strategy. He starts by saying it isn't political then proceeded to lay the lion's share of the blame onto the administration who had the least amount of time to set up the evacuation. These are his words and he chose them, as such I can only respond to his statements. He said he wasn't paying attention to Afghanistan until he was contacted by his friend, yet he, as a citizen in a country where it was repeated time and again that the war was failing, and that we were withdrawing forces and were increasing our timetable until it was impossible to because we couldn't pull it off. If I have never set foot in a country I wouldn't expect to know the inner workings, yet I did, because it was repeated often in the public forum. He had boots on the ground and the same access to the public information yet he didn't think a year beforehand maybe to raise his voice? Those ad hoc groups couldn't have been put together before the Taliban was IN Kabul? Not on the approach? Not when the peace deal was announced? He didn't check on his friend then. Yet it's somehow everyone else's fault?
I know it is callous, but it was a systemic failure, and he's attempting to place blame on the "silent leaders"... He's a Lt. Colonel, he is that leadership and I heard not ONE word where he accepts responsibility for his failures. Why is it always someone else's fault?
There are six million things that went wrong in that war that all led to an exit that would only happen one way. If I, as a dumb inexperienced civilian (though I do extensive research), knew BEFORE the peace was struck that our exit would be a catastrophe why didn't he? Why is it someone else's fault? The Afghan people didn't go to the airport when the offensive towards Kabul began, and he didn't text his buddy saying gtfo. He waited and they waited until the last second and expected us to somehow pull more troops in and escalate the situation. There was well over a year to prep this. There was well over a year to wake up and see what was happening, and he did nothing by his own account. It's a joke and a political hit job.

My dad was a LtCmdr in the USN during WW2. As a former cop, most retired cops and military share your sentiments. Like Pres. Lincoln warned, The only way America could fall was from within. He was right, and we are witnessing his fears in real-time! The corruption and evil are seemingly everywhere. Why? In my view, satanic evil has always been here on Earth. Now the minions of hell are making their final move. Be of good cheer, as we know they will not win! Eventually, the Good Guys prevail.

I am disgusted to be an American after that day. I was yelling at the tv, writing my representatives, leaving messages as to what in the hell they were thinking. All through this however, all you saw was the infighting between republicans and democrats of my government, like there was nothing pressing at all. I am tired, upset, embarrassed for my country now. A country that was built on the principles that were suppose to be respected and followed. Do you honestly think that anything will come of this, I don't. This man's delivery was flawless and to the point. He could replace any sitting member on that board in a minute. America is in the wrongs hands now, we need to abolish the 2 party system and create 1 party that is called the peoples party. A party that is for the people and not the lobbyist that walk the halls on any given day handing out money for favors, no more lobbyist.

They left blue passport holders behind. Blinky would not let them out of Afghanistan. He is still preventing them from leaving. I am ashamed of our country.

@@jasperstone9114 Yes they could not wait to leave Afghanistan. They could not wait to instigate all of the drama that exists between Russia and Ukraine. Now we soon will live to see our children both young men and women being drafted to actively fight in this war. Our children are going to be sacrificed to this administrations deliberate effort to promote war.

It was, and you were warned it would be from the very start. The US was there for 20 years, and the Taliban waited in the shadows for 20 years - they would have waited as long as it took, it isn't like they had anywhere else to be.
