No, his singing is phenomenal but his acting ain't there imo. His "anxiety" comes across more dorky and like a funny quirk then a serious condition. Kills the mood in some scenes.
@@WaterEnjoyer3123 I think he just hasn’t had the chance to play Evan in a SERIOUS capacity. Musical Evan is SUPPOSED to be exaggerated compared to Movie Evan, so he comes across as funnier
@@deederbroke I don't view the character that way, but I do partially agree . There are a few scenes like the hand dryer joke and his first conversation with Zoe where I see it played as a joke. But over all I much prefer a more serious portrayal even on stage. But I respect your opinion!
The switch to his head in the first chorus is so beautifully done!! Would give anything to see one of his shows or to go back in time and see him as Evan
Can we appreciate how good Andrews piano playing is. I am learning this and it is not easy. Then being able to sing like that ,play piano and perform that is a talent I would like to have!
I admire your willingness to post these imperfect videos. It's nice to see actual talent that hasn't been post produce to no end before posting a perfect audio version, but lip synced. So many TT's post these perfect videos that were clearly not performed live without all the post production tools. You deserve some serious RIZ or what ever it is you kids say. :-)

No hate to Ben, but you can clearly see this guy has way more talent vocally and musically. Which goes to show it’s the people you know that get you the roles not much because of the talent and charm.
I respect your opinion but, I disagree also. Ben Platt is extremely good at Evan. He has the voice especially. He betrays the character extremely well too.💗
