- This is a competition piece for my Woodturning club monthly challenge. The task was to make a Coffee Scoop out of single piece of wood. NO JOINTS. Here's my effort. I hope you enjoy watching. Pete
Very nicely done. I particularly like the handle twist with the tasteful use of color.
Thanks John. Glad you liked it.
Loved the finish great bit of turning might have to make one

Thanks Steve. I’m glad you liked it.
Very nice video. I think applying of some alcohol helps removing hot glue.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try it.👍
Very impressive scoop.
Thanks for your feedback Robert. Much appreciated.
I like that ❤
Thanks Debra. Glad you did. 😊
Nice work as always 👍👍 The coffe scoop looks so beautiful 👏👏
Thanks again. I really appreciate your feedback. 👍
Very nice. What do you thing of using Isopropyl Alcohol to loosen the hot melt glue?
Thanks David. Never tried Isopropyl on hot melt glue. It’s worth investigating. The glue came off fairly easily with a bit of heat, but it did leave a slightly sticky residue which cleaned off with a bit of elbow grease. 😊
I have never before seen a barley twist made, very interesting. Just out of interest, how long overall do you think it took to make the scoop?
Thanks for your comment David. I reckon it took about 3 hours, the Barley Twist taking up most of the time. I didn’t edit out much footage but it is speeded up 4x overall.
