Sorry for the mispell, yes still practicing but looking forward to the next lesson
Nice on Pete
Thanks John. Much appreciated. Keep practicing! 😊
Nice one Pete, shame about the crack appearing - have a good Christmas.
Thanks Dermot. The crack is hairline and less than 1/2” so hopefully it won’t get any worse. Got your card. Thank you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Another great video. Impressed how you made the rings. Must be great cleaning up afterwards 😂 looking forward to the next one.
Thanks Mitch. Glad you enjoyed it.
WOW I ❤ it.
Thank you. Much appreciated.😊
Really well done Pete, interesting turning and use of the air brush. Any suggestions on what paint to use as you mentioned not happy with the current paint drying qualities.
Thanks Dermot. The paint I used was Artfly. It wasn’t cheap either, although cheaper than my usual brand. I usually use Vallejo paints which are very good. After checking the reviews on Amazon somebody else had a similar problem with the Artfly. When I tried to wipe them over with a damp cloth some of the colour was lifting off, which shouldn’t happen, which suggests that the paint was reactivating. I think I’ll go back the my usual brand, or get some Jo Sonja if the debit card will stand the pressure😀
Very nice video. I think applying of some alcohol helps removing hot glue.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try it.👍
well done Pete, exellent.
Thanks 👍😊
Nicely done Pete 👍
Thanks Dermot. 😊
I like that ❤
Thanks Debra. Glad you did. 😊
That is beautiful. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Lovely design. Nice piece of wood and you did it justice.
Thanks Hubert. Glad you liked it.
Very nice. What do you thing of using Isopropyl Alcohol to loosen the hot melt glue?
Thanks David. Never tried Isopropyl on hot melt glue. It’s worth investigating. The glue came off fairly easily with a bit of heat, but it did leave a slightly sticky residue which cleaned off with a bit of elbow grease. 😊
I have never before seen a barley twist made, very interesting. Just out of interest, how long overall do you think it took to make the scoop?
Thanks for your comment David. I reckon it took about 3 hours, the Barley Twist taking up most of the time. I didn’t edit out much footage but it is speeded up 4x overall.
Very nice.
Thank you David. Glad you liked it.
Would love to know where to purchase the metal potpourri tops
I’m in the UK, so I got them from Turners Retreat, but most woodturning suppliers (Yandles, Stiles & Bates, Axminster etc) sell them.
Loved the finish great bit of turning might have to make one Regards Steve UK London
Thanks Steve. I’m glad you liked it.
Very impressive scoop.
Thanks for your feedback Robert. Much appreciated.
Very nicely done. I particularly like the handle twist with the tasteful use of color.
Thanks John. Glad you liked it.
Nice work as always 👍👍 The coffe scoop looks so beautiful 👏👏
Thanks again. I really appreciate your feedback. 👍
Great piece...congratulations!
Thanks Sergio. Much appreciated.
Nicely done you could mount the box on a jamb chuck and put some details on the bottom
Thanks Gary. I might just do that. 😊
What a beautiful design 😃😃
Thanks. I’m glad you liked it. 😊
Pretty bowl... would love to have some narration about the wood, tools, etc.
Hi Jimmy. Thanks for your feedback. Commentary is something I’ve attempted in my second posted video. Posting videos and interesting content is still very much a learning curve for me. I’m glad you liked the bowl. Pete
Beautiful piece 🤩
Thank you! 😊
