Blackout wasn't a skirmish promo. It was dynasty release weekend and a lot of stores didn't do it. It's probably closer to rarity of something like a CF iyslander or jubeel
With Dromai hitting LL I found myself without a hero. I’ve been messing around with Victor and Dash I/O and have been quietly picking up all the class staple cards and equipment.
Unfortunately SSGB isn't very good for Riptide as it only gives an aim counter off the top of your deck, where Barbed Castaway can flip your reloaded arrow and give it one. Unfortunate but it's just how it is
Barbed is the most consistent way to ensure an aim counter SSGB has a objectively higher ceiling one blue can turn into a 7 dominante with an on hit which barbed could never do
NGL; Sandscour < Barbed Castaway Sandscour is great if you know what is on top of your deck, Riptide doesn't play many if any of the cards that allow him to do so. It is very much an Azelea bow, and another bow she ignores because she runs Death Dealer and has a Quiver that provides the same value. Barbed is just a lot more consistent, and being instants means that the Ranger doesn't get locked out by Azelea or Guardians that limit their Go Again. I'm sure some day we might get a ranger that would care more about the value of Sandscour, but right now there isn't. But yea good time to buy, because currently it is a bad card.
Fully agree. Barbed castaway gets around warmonger's and gives a lot of value with the ability to flip cards in arsenal, and load cards separately. Severely underrated bow and Definitely what people should be running once Part the Mistveil comes out

@TCG_Staxwell Well yes, but if you add a 0 cost buff to that equation, then the math is the same. You load murky with Riptide's ability, flip it and get an aim counter with Barbed, then attack for 10 dominate. You can't have that kind of consistency with SSGB
The math isn’t even close to the same. You described a 3 card 10 I decribed a 1 card 7 If you added a pump to both bows then SSGB can accomplish the same thing with one less card every time. Less consistently but the ceiling is objectively MUCH higher Is the upside of the aim counter even worth?
@TCG_Staxwell Sure ya, the math of the total outcome isn't the same, but you want to play those arrow buffs anyway. Consistency has always been a problem in Riptide, so in my experience, it's 100% of the time better to play barbed than SSGB
Sandscour wouldn't be good for Riptide. The aim counter only goes on the arrow if it came from top of the deck, not hand. Barbed cast away is the better bow for that. Combined with New Horizons you can put the aim counter on the arrow from facedown and just leave it there for later. Aim counters don't disappear unless the card gets taken out of Arsenal or turned facedown.
Totally possible, that bow is just so bad… I think I would take my chances with Sandscour off the top. You will not catch me playing Barbed Castaway One card blue: off the top new riptide spec. One card 7 dominate with an on hit sounds nuts. Even if you hit any of the outsiders arrows one card infecting/sedation/etc sounds nuts too
@TCG_Staxwell with Riptides ability, Barbed Castaway is the easiest. Play a card from hand, put arrow into arsenal facedown, activate barbed castaway and give it the aim counter. That's why I prefer it over sandscour. Eventually a new bow will come out that'll be better then both lol. And yes, new Riptide card is amazing. Definitely gonna be chasing for it haha.
Barbed has 2 instants, that can be played on both turns. Not only is this good for getting around discard FXs, but it also allows you to take actions with cards like Red In The Ledger are dominated and coming in that will make it so you can only play 1 action in your turn. Then there is also the nice ability to filter your hand more effectively because it can use two resources.
Ripple Away is good for Azalea, Victor, Kayo, and all 3 of the MST heroes. There's a reason why there's a TIGER on the art. It's the next Hold the Line!
@@TCG_Staxwell the clashes(not test), golden son, the new Visit card. But mostly I think it'll hopefully mess up Tiger, Slither, Fang Strikes and Spectrals from MST. They like inserting techs one set ahead it seems: Amnesia, Hold the Line, EVO didn't have generics, Ripple. The card is super strong especially if you don't need to sacrifice a card in your resource base for it like Teklovossen or Axes Dori
If it was your last card in hand and you discarded and got a card back from grave off of an opponents codex it would be cool. Other than that, I think I would be happy to give up the tokens and have my opponent discard?
@@TCG_Staxwell Codex of Frailty is played more often when the opponent has an arsenal than when they don't. I find that I want the ponder token and a threat pretty often. Turning off the Ponder can really trip up my tempo on Uzuri. I imagine it even better against the rangers when they play Codexes.

Ah thank you for the correction
Yea it says right in the collectors center Dynasty Release Weekend.
Would help if I did some kind of research prior to
@@TCG_Staxwell It would help build confidence in all the other advice you give if you demonstrate you know the facts behind the cards
But then I don’t get the free TH-cam engagement from people shit talking in the comment section
I've been telling people Riptide is coming up quick and they kept laughing 😂

Ripple away also turns off token generation for negative effects like bloodroot etc
Wow I had no idea
Ancestral empowerment
Lol thank you

Yoooo top 8 on Maxx is dope!
Add some music back in. I like the music you used last time, it was comforting.

Maxx, if only he had a good specialization and a good weapon
If only… he isn’t the worst as is but certainly feels like he is missing something
@TCG_Staxwell I agree, he's very fun to play, just very inconsistent
Ripple Away is also annoying for decks that play Codexes.
