    Well it's a huge step in the right direction! Bring out the Bronx, and I'll visit the showroom asap.

    As a Road King and Street Bob owner, this is the bike I've been waiting for. It's unapologetically a Harley, but with much more room for improvement and much better to start with! This bike is one exhaust and two inches of exhaust from perfection, mechanically. Visually, I don't like how the motor has a good side and a bad side, the way they stuffed all the plumbing and the wires on the left side is fine but they didn't make any effort to make it look decent, let alone good... I'll have to see if it's not so bad in person.

      The left/right hand thing is also on the Pan America annd Sportster S, but not as extreme as on the Nightster.

      I'm sure HD will sell a matching left side engine cover for only $799. 😂 The only thing I really dislike is that it sounds like a thumper. Other than that, I think it's great.

    38 years after the Harley tariff placed on all imported motorcycles that ruined the motorcycle industry causing over 1100 motorcycle shops in the country to go out of business permanently putting over 8000 workers in those motorcycle shops out of work. 38 years later, parlay finally comes up with a new modern motorcycle. I don’t know where this motorcycle is made, but back when the tariff was enforced, Harleys were made in the United States. Now they’re made in Brazil, India,Europe, and I think China. So much for buy American.. I worked part time in those motorcycle shops in the late 70s and 80s. Three of the shops that I worked at went out of business one after the other because of the tariff Harley convinced Ronald Reagan to put on motorcycles. example, hey 750 Honda list price was $2999 before the tariff. The day the tariff was enforced. That motorcycle was $4750. Showrooms were deserted… here near Pittsburgh where I live there used to be 17 motorcycle dealerships that were not Harley. Now today, there are two survivors, and that’s because those dealerships have been there for decades and they own the buildings they are in..
    so Harley is finally introducing something modern 38 years later instead of just selling T-shirts, which happens to be their best selling item. Their motorcycles are actually a 1907 design stolen from Indian, Indian stole the design from the aviation genius glenn Curtis. He was also a motorcycle Thomas Edison. He actually had a V-8 motor cycle way back in the early 1900s that did over 130 miles an hour.. Glenn Curtis invented the V twin engine. Motorcycles had a single cylinder engine placed in a bicycle frame in those days. Glenn Curtis figured out that a V twin engine would fit inside a bicycle frame. The rest is history..
    it’s good to see that Harley is finally copying some of the Japanese designs. I know they have been using Japanese components, components made in China, Japanese electrics, Japanese fuel injection systems, that’s why they have improved over the last four decades. Nobody was buying Harleys in the 1970s and 80s. Know when you could buy water cooled four valves per cylinder, fuel injected, turbo charged, shaft drive, electronic ignition, disc brake, reliable motorcycles that didn’t break down, didn’t leak oil for half the price.
    i’ll never forget all the owners of the shops that I worked at, and the misery they went through losing their business because of that Harley tariff. I have had 108 motorcycles so far. I have never had a Harley, and I never will.. Harley eliminated low price motorcycles overnight. Harley cried to Ronald Reagan the president, saying that Japan was dumping motorcycles here Below cost.The prices went up, and they never came back down.
    I will give you an example of how well cheap motorcycles were selling before the tariff.
    Yamaha made a 650 cc 2 cylinder motorcycle called the XS 650. I was selling motorcycles at the time. I actually made more money selling motorcycles part time in those days than I made at my regular job. One year alone, Yamaha sold over 120,000 of that motorcycle here in the United States. I literally sold dozens of them. They were cheap. Something like 12 or $1300 new. That was 100,000 mile motorcycle. After the tariff, Yamaha still has never sold 120,000 motorcycles of all sizes combined in a single year..
    I hope Harley is playing up the patriot role wrapping themselves in the American flag The way they did to get the tariff imposed back in the 80s .. that’s if this motorcycle is made in the USA….
    Thanks a lot Harley. I ain’t forgetting what you did to the entire motorcycle market

    I only have two complaints about this bike.
    1. The price
    2. It’s not the Bronx…

      Of course we asked about the Bronx. No comment, but didn't get the impression it will be here really soon. But, that is just an impression, maybe they are just great actors.

    As a Sportster S owner, I think this is like looking at the bright plumage of a chicken before you cook it rather than feeling the meat on the bones. So what will all Sportster riders do? Change the handlebars, seat and exhaust (I think EU has restrictions on exhausts). If you are changing those three things then the Sportster S is the better bike Corbin has a seat and tail tidy already. Two Brothers has a two into one exhaust and the new Nightster bars should retrofit to the Sportster S. If you don't like the look of the plumage, you need to feel the meat.

    It feels like this guy is saying this is a garbage bike but I'm being paid by Harley so I'm not actually going to say it's a garbage bike. he might not be but that's what it sounds like

    The end of Harley as it was known ... Bye Bye Miss American Pie ...
    You know instead of ripping off their customers with the marketing ploy of the likes of Stage One, Two, Three and so on Harley should have simply built and offered a motorcycle that were not in need of gimmick add ons but followed the likes of its competition and offered stock bikes that performed ...

    I think the M8 engines are here to stay for a long time actually 🤓 Some of the bikes have water cooling in them already, the radiators are just hidden in the lower fairing 😁 and on most of them like the softails they have an oil cooler, if emissions tighten up even more then they can start running water cooling on all of them, might add fans later on, There isnt much stopping the M8 from keeping up with other engines, its a very Low reving engine, pushrods are fine unless you want to rev higher which most harley owners dont 😁 on top of that, Harley purposefully make their engines modular for tweeking and modifications, they can change anything if they have to unlike most other manufacturers who just discontinue engines since they make so many different ones 🤓

    • @Testmotor
      @Testmotor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you are right, but it looks like the supertight emissions need the new style engines...

      Well, the bike was built in Thailand, with Italian brakes and Japanese shocks. But this is how all motorcycle (and car) manufacturers work nowadays. Even if they're built in the US.

    Why would I buy this when I can get a Rebel 1100 for 5k less🤷‍♂️

    • @deangullberry5148
      @deangullberry5148 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Rebel doesn't have the aftermarket support that this will (Rineheart has already released the exhaust that Perewitz used on their build).
      From there, I'd have to ask if the Rebel comes standard with ABS, Lean Sensitive Braking, engine breaking, and ride modes?
      Cann you swap foot control positions on the Rebel? Nightster is standard with Mids, and ready to accept rear sets and forwards.
      Honda makes good bikes, but I'd be surprised if you get a Rebel that has all the same tech, and custom ability, with that big of a price difference.
