@Emaan Syed if you pay close attention he rolls out the back of the box at the last moment because it never really was locked and he put on a cap that was identical to one of the helpers, and when the second guy got the hammer to break the glass if you watch where he went he went behind the box to switch with Demian, then Demian took the hammer and HE broke the glass instead

The trick was recorded without the public before because one detail explains all : the reflection of the judges to the glass. During the trick they move and all. In the glass, they always are in same positions without any moves.
They are 2 layers of glasses there.... the sand just go into between those glasses..can you see after he busted it how much sand came out of that BIG box...not as much as the sand up above before it buried him alive...this is my assumption..thats why he looks so clean came out of it....

I remember watching this live on tv. As soon as the sand dropped I go “HOLY CRAP!” Never been so scared and didn’t know it was gonna go wrong. Then when he busts it and the sand falls out I got confused and then he took off his hat and I was so amazed. Definitely want to start going to his shows looking back at it
Muhammad Yunus you're probably right, but if you see Indonesian talent shows and stuff (especially the singing ones) you'd notice the difference in attitude of appreciation towards the contestants (which is way less or even underestimating) compared to the judges on this vid

Magic tricks like this are always my favorite. You think something went wrong in the trick and then it just completely turns around and becomes a stunning magic trick. This is probably one of my favourite magic auditions I've seen on AGT. (Of course Will is on that list too. He was amazing!)
Definitely agree with you. No matter how many times I watch Will's performance, I have absolutely no idea how he did it. I kind of have an idea of how Demian did his act, but I had to watch it another time. It's not too obvious that you can understand how he does it right away. What I meant to say was that I liked his presentation of the magic trick and the anticipation caused by the trick.

Demian is a professional magician in Indonesia and yet, although his act maybe predictable but surely is not an easy act and needed a years by years training. I'm pretty sure that he is already prepared a bigger act than this in the next round so what we can do is support him. He is very professional i can guarantee you. For those Indonesian fellas, stop hating and appreciate art more

magic is an art.... as far i can consider, demian is a professionnal magician and i know what he did was a trick and i don't know how he did it and acctually i don't want to figure. when we did it will lose the art itself,, i enjoy what he did in AMGT and i'm proud,,, congrats for demian..
this is a risking act. if you watched a indonesian tv show called ''sarah sechan'' , he said that he failed 8 out of 10 try when he tried the magic. he also has a pitcure in his instragram when he failed and his body is full of sand. so indonesian, we need to appperciate this. thankyou
He was in no danger whatsoever and that statement is a lie to make you belive that there's some risk involved, just go back to the beggining of this video and hear he saying that it's the second time that he will do this trick, hahaha, see?
Bráulio Williams the first one was in 2011. And from a medical side, if he laying down under the sand, and the sand was fell down on his body, the sand will got into his nose because the particle of the sand is really small, and ofcourse there will be a breathing problem and dont think its easy, sand also heavy. Its really dangerous, if you dont know anything about illusion, let me tell you something, if he about late just 1 or 2 seconds, his life will be in danger.
I didn't want to spoil the trick but here it is: The sand was filling only the front of the box, probably between two layers of glass or acrylic, and when it feel, it was inside the botton part exactly like the first one, it became really clear when he broke it with the hammer that there wasn't enough sand to fill the box that high. PS: Does it look like 900 pounds of sand? (As Howie said at 01:40) So, no, he wasn't in danger.

A man wearing similar to him runs to stage (notice that he has his sleeves down), the man goes behind the box and the magician came out the left side(sleeves now pulled up). Something else I saw was the helper guy the one who cuffed him looked behind the box possibly at the guy lookalike.

Great execution!! The act caught me at my first watch. The men were quick. I did really need to replay the clip from 2:59 to 3:30 the nth time to fully understand the act. Nonetheless, it was outstanding! Much love from the Philippines ♡♡
yeah, i remember a few years ago there was a man who did crazy stuff with ladders. in one of the later shows he fell off a ladder and had to get carried off with a stretcher...scared the crap outta me!!
Luke Doggett can't do that on live show buddy. I remember there was an episode from a tv show where this demian tried to catch a nail shooted from a nail gun, but it went wrong and the nail just pierce his hand. They bring him to hospital and the show end just like that

Magic tricks like this are always my favorite. You think something went wrong in the trick and then it just completely turns around and becomes a stunning magic trick. This is probably one of my favourite magic auditions I've seen on AGT. (Of course Will is on that list too. He was amazing!)
Definitely agree with you. No matter how many times I watch Will's performance, I have absolutely no idea how he did it. I kind of have an idea of how Demian did his act, but I had to watch it another time. It's not too obvious that you can understand how he does it right away. What I meant to say was that I liked his presentation of the magic trick and the anticipation caused by the trick.

Demian is a professional magician in Indonesia and yet, although his act maybe predictable but surely is not an easy act and needed a years by years training. I'm pretty sure that he is already prepared a bigger act than this in the next round so what we can do is support him. He is very professional i can guarantee you. Kalo ini di Indonesia audience harus digiring host, "beri tepuk tangan yang meriah untuk bla bla bla..". Baru tepuk tangan, itu juga sebagian aja yg tepuk tangan dgn ikhlas. Yg saya suka dari acara macam ini di luar negeri audience betul-betul mengapresiasi talent dan mereka sangat ekspresif (look at mangap-mangap ketika mereka tegang). Mungkin sebagian orang kita lihat itu lebay ya, tapi yg saya suka dari bule mereka itu ekspresif. Dan kalo endingnya bagus gak jaim ngasih standing applause. Gak kayak di... Ah, sudahlah. this is a risking act. if you watched a indonesian tv show called ''sarah sechan'' , he said that he failed 8 out of 10 try when he tried the magic. he also has a pitcure in his instragram when he failed and his body is full of sand. so indonesian, we need to appperciate this. thankyou

He was in no danger whatsoever and that statement is a lie to make you belive that there's some risk involved, just go back to the beggining of this video and hear he saying that it's the second time that he will do this trick, hahaha, see?
Bráulio Williams the first one was in 2011. And from a medical side, if he laying down under the sand, and the sand was fell down on his body, the sand will got into his nose because the particle of the sand is really small, and ofcourse there will be a breathing problem and dont think its easy, sand also heavy. Its really dangerous, if you dont know anything about illusion, let me tell you something, if he about late just 1 or 2 seconds, his life will be in danger.
I didn't want to spoil the trick but here it is:
The sand was filling only the front of the box, probably between two layers of glass or acrylic, and when it feel, it was inside the botton part exactly like the first one, it became really clear when he broke it with the hammer that there wasn't enough sand to fill the box that high. PS: Does it look like 900 pounds of sand? (As Howie said at 01:40)
So, no, he wasn't in danger.

Well Idk exactly HOW he escaped, but after he did, he got out of the back and stayed there. A man wearing similar to him runs to stage (notice that he has his sleeves down), the man goes behind the box and the magician came out the left side(sleeves now pulled up). Something else I saw was the helper guy the one who cuffed him looked behind the box possibly at the guy lookalike.

I was surprised watching it on youtube. Couldn't even imagine watching it live. The tense..
If u guys dont know, its very simple he escaped from the back door and when the two guys came to the stage to help him then one of them switched each other at the back and magician showed up at the front! Btw, i liked how his wife was acting like he would really die xD
the concept is simple, but to do it smoothly at a big stage with no failure is surely amazing.

Great execution!! The act caught me at my first watch. The men were quick. I did really need to replay the clip from 2:59 to 3:30 the nth time to fully understand the act. Nonetheless, it was outstanding! Much love from the Philippines ♡♡

yeah, i remember a few years ago there was a man who did crazy stuff with ladders. in one of the later shows he fell off a ladder and had to get carried off with a stretcher...scared the crap outta me!!
Luke Doggett can't do that on live show buddy. I remember there was an episode from a tv show where this demian tried to catch a nail shooted from a nail gun, but it went wrong and the nail just pierce his hand. They bring him to hospital and the show end just like that

1. ane dari indonesia, dan juga dulu juga wakil dari indo di sea games
2. kenapa banyak orng indo yg comment negatif?? apa karena halnya mereka tau semua trik sulap??
3. pernah ane dulu pas sea games juga di caci maki sama the bad commenter -_-, tapi alhasil bisa membawa perak untuk indonesia di ajang karate
4. demian udah tau bahwa sulap di indonesia dari tahun ke tahun bakal punah. karena sulap adalah seni paling tersulit
5. orng" yg tahu akan semua trik, coba tunjukin. terus pamer tuh video di youtube. kita lihat. apa bener ente bisa melakukan trik tersebut? atau hanya omong kosong belaka???
6. juga, yg paling parah adalah yg bad commenter itu rata" anak alay. dan juga masih labil. tentu mereka belum tahu apa rasanya sulap yg sebenarnya. dan mereka juga belum pernah juga merasakan nyawa berada dalam bahaya.
pesan buat bad commenter: jangan ente merendahkan orang yg berusaha mengharumkan seni sulap indonesia di ajang luar negeri. support terus.
