Oh my heavens. This is a genius piece of work. Not only do I love the creative arrangement, but the playing skill is just... the absolute top. The touch, the volume control, the timing... absolutely masterful. Add to that his brilliant melodic choices. I love his improvisation, because there is SO much depth. Lovely note selection, but far beyond that. His soloing is like full arrangements, prepared over long seasons. And they may we'll be!! That does not reduce the value... it makes his soloing... genius.
I just watch, and respect. I know I'm watching the highest level of virtuoso. Thank You, Yohan!!! This was such a pleasure to take in and process musically. Just lovely. Lovely indeed.

20살에 재즈 피아니스트로 엄청난 성장을 했지만 솔직히 지금 연주 스타일은 다분히 한국적인 스타일 같습니다.
솔직히 더 직관적으로 말하자면 연주 잘하는 서울예대 입시생 스타일 같아요.
(어떻게 보면 어렸을때부터 배웠던 올드한 스타일을 못벗어나보입니다.)
뭔가 요한군이 더 유명해지고 세계적으로 실력을 인정 받고싶으면 재즈 본토의 언어를 더 익혔으면 합니다.
가령 지민도로시님이 렉타임을 쳤을때는 진짜 미국 본토 사람이 연주한 느낌을 받습니다. 그렇다고 지민도로시님이 한장르만 잘하시는건 아니죠. 요한군에 연주는 뭔가 한국 재즈피아니스트 연주만 듣고 자란 느낌이 들어요. 다양한 스타일에 연주와 언어를 배우고 본인의 스타일을
확립하면 진정 그 누구보다 유명한 재즈피아니스트가 되지 않을까 싶습니다.
