      Same, Im from London and loved your prelude on the caravan comment. A complex topic but shows what a good hearted man you are.

    Thanks for giving a nod to Sher Music's brilliant series "The New Real Book" - They have consistently produced great books - the Latin Book is a gem. You are quoting from "The New Real Book, Vol.3" I think....,what a great classic crossover tune - Tizol and Ellington (& Irving Mills) 1937

    While we might disagree on politics, I absolutely loved this. I'm more a bassist/drummer dabbling in piano, so this helped immensely. Thank you

    Amazing tutorial Tony! New sub here, I love how your videos are at "college" level and not made for the masses of beginner students. So many great tips in this video. I'm going to watch it several times. I just joined an amateur big band and your videos are really going to help.

      @Tony Winston Cool! I've never successfully been able to call myself a jazz player until now. I do free improvisation primarily. I've had so many almost's with jazz and have been saying for years that I just couldn't do it for some reason. Now I have to finally stop making excuses and just put in the work and do it.

    Hey Tony!
    I would be great if you could make a video, explaining Negative harmony. I always find the Jacob Collier interviews, and I never understand them. I understand you, so it would be great if you did that.

    ''let me turn the on metronome and let's see how bad I suck''🙃 I just subscribed. Seen a few of your videos. Great job Tony. I'm sure you have some great stories of your own personal jazz gigs. You look as though you would have been a cool cat back in the day getting all the ladies around the piano😎

    Ah I thought since it was a 7 chord for those bars that a Barry scale could be used but it did not work out cause that has to be the 5 chord to use that. Oh and that book of a thousand songs had that other version you showed.... Did not know if it was a mistake never heard it like that. That second motiff went from Cb to E to Bb at end

    Please, how do you call this jazz accompaniment's rhythm style ?

    • @TonyWinston
      @TonyWinston  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Left hand is accompaniment to the right hand. This is a style you can use when playing with a bass player or trio.

    If I wasn't already a subscriber I'd be signing up now knowing I'm in accord/harmony with your politics & you having the ballsy conviction of character to express them knowing you might well "lose a thousand subscribers". There's a reason the fascists banned/tried to ban Jazz!

      Yes....because they all have Winstona distorted view of the world! Altruistic charitable people ask what the can give for the greater good. Socialistic ideology asks what they unjustly take from others to for the greater good.
