    So here in EA sports WRC 23, I am doing a mini series in setting up your car in WRC 23. In this first part we deal with the suspension and damping in my opinion the most important parts of any setup. In the next one we will discuss the diff, brakes, gears and alignment. So make sure to subscribe with the notification bell on so you don't miss out on that part.
    This is the longest video i have made so please bare with whilst i am still learning to edit better. And make the content better for you guys!
    Disclaimer
    When writing for this video I have taken into consideration the fact that this is a video game and there are certain settings and strategies that might not mirror real life but they will make you faster and more competitive in WRC. While most recommendations do mirror real life setups, some are simply recommended to take advantage of the limitations of the game itself.

    Nicely done. This is probably one of the most important aspects concerning control during stages. Also, one of the most overlooked. Ive noticed people tend to think differential and alignment are the most important, maybe even gearing, but dampening and suspension is certainly the most important aspect to how the car handles on the stage. Thanks for the insights!

    seeing your driving and tuning lessons have really given me a new boost of motivation to keep on driving. Joined your wrc club (and too many others) And discovered how much effectiv the learning curve becomes by racing reall people. Thank you so much for sharing your innsight:) And now i'm comming for you in the tracks:)

    So, for big jumps a stiffer spring is actually the way to go as to not hit the max travel of the damper. I have been using softer springs (and dampers) for bigger/more jumps which seems to be the wrong direction…

    • @MikeyyRS
      @MikeyyRS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well its a mixture of both you can have soft springs as long as you fast bump isn't really soft as well. You just have to balance out the spring rates and the dampers, too much either way can cause an issue

    Nice one mate. I’m getting on quite well for set ups to my driving style but dampers still totally kill my head. 💀

      Love that mate.
      Try this quick reminder, write it down if you need to
      Slow Bump - is for absorbing road surfaces
      Fast Bumps - is for jumps and big bumps
      Bump division - is how much travel in the suspension there needs to be for it to switch from slow to fast
      Slow rebound - is how quickly the damper allows the suspension to extend after impact

      @@MikeyyRS skill, cheers 👍 so on the rebound if it’s softer then the wheels drop quicker maintaining contact with the road more? I had a half decent set up for Sardegna but the bumps were making my wheel feel like I was on a £20 scooter from Decathlon.

    • @MikeyyRS
      @MikeyyRS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah basically the soft the rebound the faster it will extent, the firmer the longer it will take. So really the only time you would want some firmness to it is on smooth tarmac stages. And decathlon is know for bad scooters 😂

    I will point out that I never copy/writeover tunings. My approace is to learn the most i can about the different cars in different condissions. Still struggeling on some trcks, but i'm getting there.
