Seeing all these names read out Razor is going to have a lot of really good young talent to select from for the next RWC cycle despite all the retirements after this coming RWC. I can see Scott Barrett been the ABs captain under Razor as well. The one thing that is concerning at this stage is our depth at 10 but I suspect we will unearth 2-3 new talented number 10s before the next RWC.
Wait how did Josh Lord get left out lol he’s the next big thing. Huge potential. I feel like he will be an absolute unit once he fills out. Him and Tupou I’d say are our next locking pair, Scott to be our incumbent 6 full time. Grace is better than Sotutu in my (probably unpopular) opinion. Hugely abrasive, key lineout component, high rugby IQ, potential future captain in my opinion. Young Zach Gallagher and Peter Lakai are future back rowers for us also. The way the international game is going at the moment, physicality is almost paramount. Both will be absolutely frightening once they have filled out, Lakai in particular. Sotutus ball skills are awesome in super rugby, don’t really transfer well to the international arena, he has yet to have a real standout game for the All Blacks after 2 whole seasons. I see Dallas McLeod improving rapidly as well, him and Proctor would make a veeery interesting midfield. Proctor is growing week after week. Solid and dependable also a real knack for offensive play. Reminds me of Conrad Smith in a lot of ways. Telea, Stevenson and Jordan make up a frightening back 3. All X factor players, Stevensons aerial skills and silky running game and huge boot. Teleas work rate, power, pace, fend the list goes on forever about his attributes lol absolutely selfless also, never gives up on a play. And then Will Jordan just being Will Jordan, cutting defences to shreds, second coming of Christian Cullen. Agree with your front row, Roigard will be the starting halfback no doubt, huge potential there and already carving up. 10 will be the most interesting and most important. Dmac has my vote atm to take over from Richie after the World Cup. Morgan to be his apprentice. Brett Cameron is also having an impressive revival, and Gatlands game management skills and and tactical play has also been very impressive. Sorry for the novel lol.
I love selecting ABs, strangely I have yet to be asked for my opinion by Razor, who I doubt needs it or by Foz, who actually did. Weird? We have a shit ton of talent. Everyone mentioned had a positive SR season. There are a few omissions: Plummer could cover Dmac, his goal kicking is reliable and rarely makes dumb decisions and Funaki has a high ceiling, both Blues players have size and power, which matters at test level. Wild cards are Mo'unga and Ardie, if they are in form they are hard to leave out. I think it is Dmac's time now though and he should be given the keys atm. The lack of depth at lock is the only cloud on a bright horizon
Quinten Strange and Josh Lord are our future locks. They both 2 metre tall and big units.Strange played at All Blacks XV and NZ under 20s. Razor Robertson knows about these guys. Tupou didn’t have great World Cup. Let all these guys need to earn their positions.Super rugby intensity is not test level. North Vs South game needs to be turned into three game series. After the North vs South series pick the All Blacks.
Decent side. For me, Clarke gets found out to much on D and I don’t see his game improving sufficiently to fight off the newcomers that will emerge on the wing. He also looses his feet a lot. I’m a fan of Rayasi but he dosnt seem to get much of a mention. Cam Miller is one to watch at 10. Poihipi, at the Chiefs, has a poise and touch of class in the midfield.
I agree about Macca springer. Thought Josh Lord should be in there. Unless he improves. I'm not sure caleb Clarke is good enough as a winger. I think he needs to play a bit in the centres. 2nd five perhaps. Could be a bit like sonny/ Nonu with jordie and Caleb Clarke.
McKenzie is great little player. But his game management is not test level. Barrett is another great running flyhalf. His line kicking is not as good as Mo’unga. It is time we look to the future.Stephen Perofeta is the complete player. He can run, pass, tackle, kick and goal kick.He is the future.
I would have Stevenson over Clarke as a reserve.... Stevenson is versatility player on the wing, outside centre, or fullback.. he is good under the highball and deceptive pace... as for Clarke he brings his power game gets caught out on defence at times but still a good player as well.
I agree with these selections. Scott Barrett at 6 please. Need the grunt he brings. 2nd 5 needs a bolter. The present options apart from Jordie are too similar. Beef is what we're missing. I'd go for a bolter, Levi Aumua or Tom UJ! Its a power game these days, at Test level. Reality is Abs haven't dominated for awhile. My selections address that.
All Blacks will be champions in 2027 they will have a major advantage lots of New Zealand fans living in Australia which makes it their 2nd home but looking at 2023 I’m not sure France is looking strong this year along with Ireland as well. ???
@@RugbyLover86 yeah but they showing who going out based on age and etc. So there is an element of it. Anyways that team doesn't look powerhouse after the world cup.
An interesting exercise but quite meaningless in fact. Injuries, overseas contracts and of course the AB history of “bolters” makes it impossible to predict that far ahead. There are so many players with the potential, and more importantly, the ambition, that even predicting Super Rugby teams is beyond difficult.
The big issue with this pack is the lineout will be destroyed. DeGroot maybe, big maybe. Taukeiaho yes Lomax wont make it over Newell. Barrett maybe, runs hard but as a lead lineout option hes ok not great Vaii not convinced until he packs on a few pounds. Sotutu dreaming at 6. Blackadder 100 Papalii yes Savea wont ever make it back. Go with a big 8 like Grace whos a good lineout option.
I trust the depth in our local talent and with Razor now he 💯 choose the strongest team possible every time more so than our last couple coaches more recently anyway I think? 🤔
He’s not big enough or physical enough for the international game in my opinion. Look at the top 8’s in the world (Aldritt, Wiese, Savea…) they all play a far more abrasive game because you need that from your 8. We need a new Kieran Read and I think that will be Cullen Grace when he’s fit.
Love the lakai and Higgins call 🌀

Lock as well. there is world class depth everywhere else
No mention of Ethan Blackadder?
To injury prone
Clarke hopeless
Interesting exercise. Not a bad team at all, imagine the combinations that can be developed over the next 4-5 years.
Pretty handy side. Alb, and jack Goodhue will play a part. Probably josh lord and Jacobsen ahead of sotutu for me
They might come right with age but Alb and Goodhue spend more time injured than anything else.... Clarke seems to cramp up during most games.
Talea over Caleb
Caleb will falling over even more by then.
Enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing. Look forward to revisit in 2027
Your big error is on the left wing, with his dismal defense.
Well thought through Sir. Whatever unfolds, we are in for a never seen before leadership and management culture. Razor will be innovative surely?

100% agree but no one is mentioning Ethan Blackadder?????
Absolutely love the novel mate! Some great points, huge potential for Lord so definitely wouldn't be surprised if he makes it.
Great Job mate. Keep it up!

Caleb Clarke!?... bro.. no way, already on the outter.
Quin Tapia if the recovery goes well is a serious contender at the centres

Godfrey should leapfrog Morgan IMO. He has a much higher ceiling. I fear Morgan's physique could limit his international aspirations.

There's probably a bias since I'm a blues fan but I really can't see Finlay Christie or Stephen Perofeta being overlooked
Lol Perofeta is so overrated

most of those pl[ayers have walking sticks and be koros when 2027 comes around bro! cmon!.
2nd team probably better choice
i do not see Savea starting in 8 i actually believe sotutu will be our 8 dalton 7 and 6 is the big question

Jordie barret going back to 15 and we get a physical and powerful 12

Yes fozzie tends to select his favorites over the best
Caleb Clarke will not make the squad. He is defensive liability
Not bad 🔥
Why is Dalton captain I think Ardie cap and then Dalton cc
Why are we playing the best 7 in the world at 8 especially when Papali'i is over-rated!
Toooooo far away, to much water will flow into the sea!
I say Caleb Clarke doesn't make it. He sucks a defense tbh.
