  • Locating Snook and Redfish on an outgoing tide way back in the shallow backwaters of Ozello Florida. These fish are laid up in these areas due to the huge amount of bait such as small mud minnows, finger mullet , blue crap , and shrimp that plentiful this time of year.

    Great video.. thoroughly enjoyed it!
    What a nice guy.. That’s an awesome offer!
    I live in Crystal River, and usually fish offshore for grouper, snapper and what not… but would love to try my hand at fishing insure for reds and snook! Unfortunately, I may not be limber enough to fish out of a kayak!

    I love ozello ... I launch out of john brown ramp , and hit all the cuts up to hangover Island. Now that the weather has warmed up , been catching 18 - 29 inch reds , and 30 inch snook. Great video , and I agree that if you drop you leader you have a better chance on fish. I use 20lb power pro , with 20 lb fluorocarbon , and I don't have many issues losing fish that much.
    Again, great video and see you on the water !!!

    Great Video, brother! Moving back to the area after ten years and inshore fishing is a big reason why. Definitely a “beginner” but looking forward to fishing shallows with a kayak. Really appreciate your videos, helps us newbs, tremendously. Look forward to seeing you out there!

    good eavning. this is Mr Bear im just learning ozello nice place i also fish Brasher park . got my kayak year and a half ago learning that to.in regards to soft plastics i have not cought one dam fish yet. like to fish in comming tides .i live in hudson ae you still fishing.

    • @redfishlife727
      @redfishlife727  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regarding soft plastics in Brasher Park, go with a constant retrieving method, but slow roll as much as possible. Just enough to stay out of the grass. I prefer paddle tail versions.
      Also, in my experience there, outgoing tide is your best option. Just don’t get stuck, it gets really shallow.

    Hey bud, looking at fishing ozello for the first time this coming Saturday. We plan to launch the kayaks at the John Brown ramp. Any pointers on which direction we should head? Also thinking about picking up some of those dart spins if you have any insight on colors we should get for this time of year. TIA!

      They can be very strong at times . Good tide charts are helpful in planning your trips in Ozello.
