Man, this brings back great memories. Had one of these myself, lots of Pokemon and 90's SNICK shows I recorded growing up. I used to sit there spinning the FF/Rewind control knob all day and then my dad would yell at me
Ha! I just bought this same VCR from the Goodwill store. I just looked it up as I'm trying to find a remote for this thing. I looked it up again when I got home and started watching this video. I very quickly realized I've already watched this video several months ago! Nice to know I got a good unit.
Awesome VCR and Rugrats VHS tape! I still have a similar 1995 (I think) Sony VCR at my dad's house. Back in 2000, we got a Rugrats in Paris VHS tape. I also, found a 2002 Simpsons Marathon tape with old commercials.
I have an SLV-N71 which looks really similar to this, in fact very few things set it apart. I believe we got it when our previous VCR bit the dust and stopped reading tapes. That was probably late 1999, and much like yours, it plays tapes as if they had never aged. It's awesome! A Rugrats marathon? Wow, I really wish I was smarter than to just let all my old tapes sit with nothing recorded :P
The Auto Clock will scan for a signal in the VBI of the local PBS station and set the clock, DTV made it obsolete! The head cleaner is a round white pad that rubs against the video head when you eject a tape, open it up and remove it as it damages the heads after awhile. If you think that picture looks good, you should see how the high end SVHS/DVHS decks look with their time-base correction and noise reduction turned on.
If you were born in november of 1989 that would mean that I am a month younger than you are XD Since there are other commercials here in Germany I don't know any of the ones you played, but the "style" was the same.

Great video. I have a Sony VCR, model SLV 662 HF. After 15 years, it still works well.
I have like 4 of these laying around, lol. For the last couple of years of my family using VHS, this is all we ever used. They're built well indeed.
holy crap, i had one of these growing up! worked forever!

I got this yesterday! The recording quality is excellent
I also have my originally VCR. It is a Toshiba and it still works even though it was made in 1990. :)
I was bored last night so I figured I'd catch up on stuff that needed to have videos of! :-)
I've seen many VCRs similar to this at thrift stores but they're always older versions of it, which might be what you have.

Does this vcr have fast play, press the play button again while a tape is playing normally? Mine does.
we had one like that. Trouble is it kept producing a whine. Not a good French vintage either.......
Put that Rugrats tape on on dvd ill buy one from you.
Can you review the Xbox one?
Playing the game
Poor PB legend, gets all skratched
The auto head cleaner does more harm than good. Best to remove it.
