Surpassed only by Americans in Spain, who are wondering why extremely poor high school level Mexican Spanish is getting them nowhere.

The "chorizo chorizo vamos a la playa" part really reminds me of the movie "L'Auberge Espagnole", with Wendy's brother, who behaves exactly like that.
(Wendy is the English girl in the movie)

Ok I REALLY need somebody who can explain this thing of it's not racism if everybody is white. As Italian, we don't have that, if I mock a French with a racist stereotype I would call it racist in the same way I would do for a Chinese mock. Isn't the same in English? How can I say the difference? Do we all agree that races don't exist (biologically at least) and that's racist believing the opposite? Thank you

      It was just a joke.

Races don’t exist biologically, but they do exist as a social construct. Historically other races have always been defined in relation to whiteness, and racism is the discrimination of those non-white races by the white one. There is no such thing as racism against white people.
Now, as it is socially constructed, the definition of « white » is fluid. At some points in history spanish or italian have been considered non-white. That is not the case anymore, in europe at least. In the US the « latino » race has been created, even though it doesn’t exist in latin america itself.
So yeah, an english man doing a spanish accent might be considered insensitive, but it isn’t racist.

@@lostvariusOnly in current Western thought. The line between race and ethnicity is blurred. Racism as a concept is relatively modern. For example, races and racism weren't a concept in medieval Europe

    • @lostvarius

@@necksquad3222 Absolutely ! Although there were precursors to it, and it didn’t appear overnight, the concept of race was constructed in Europe during the modern era.
But I will also say that ethnicity is just as much of a social construct ! Not necessarily a bad one though, except of course when it is use in lieu of race, as it often is nowadays.
