"Tax the rich" - the rich small business owners? This is completely wrong headed and being done for nothing but political points. Rich farmers? Rich tradespeople? Tax the inflation on 20+ year investments retroactively?
Remember according to the Liberals and NDP small business owners are tax cheats.

The $1M exemption is for QSBC shares only, not some broad based exemption.
Also, the exemption goes up based on indexing which is provided by the Income Tax Act. It has NOTHING to do with Freeland.
The IMF, Freeland keeps mentioning, gave to Egypt 7.2 billion from the G20 during Covid, (remember we can't find a lot of missing money), Billions. The IMF has a bad reputation. This is sickning.

I do think the way thectax system works is unfair. On the flip side of the coin, we wouldnt need more taxes if spending wasnt horribly mismanaged and wasteful.
As a working person this is yet another Liberal tax on me. It affects me because it kills business in Canada. It affects me because our few doctors will move to a more tax friendly country. This will have no effect on the rich because they can afford accountants and lawyers to find loopholes. One way or another…….we have to have an election.

The lifetime capital gains exemption is not for any capital gains. It always goes up with indexing and is only for very specific circumstances. Clueless???
