Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band like Kalimba. You wore the shirt written Kalimba by hand using a highlighter pen... and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about....bring back good memories
Timkati nsabwe zawanda hayi swiso Lo 😂😂😂, MBC ili station yokhayo , nthawi ya a mwala Moyo , Levi chiomba , Samson Nkhono , Dev's Musa , ndiena otelo , old good days
Such music never loses taste... It makes us proud internationally. Malawi would have been known worldwide by now if such was our way of singing.. Probably the government kills such instincts by not honouring the talent so as to let it glow lighter...
It reminds me in those days when we tried to sing along the song. We were singing like this: Sabwe zawanda, ooh sizooo. kkkkk this was a great master piece.
Oh my word, these were global stars. I wonder if anything as great as this will ever come out of Africa, let alone Malawi. Was about 11 at the time but have never failed to admire these guys. Any one with complete Kalimba and Makasu Albums please?
this song reminds me of my cousin ERIC MALISAWA KONDOWE the time he was at CHAMINADE SECONDARY SCHOOL and my late uncle EVANS KOSIKOSI MATONDO who was MZUZU GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL.
They were very fast learners, the credit should also go to South African producers in some way .The guys came back completely changed and could play any song :difficult songs like Caribbean queen,Tarzan boy, and I liked the trumpeters led by a Chingwalu
Global hit? That means it made the charts in Zimbabwe. They strike me as very Malawi Congress Party - smartly dressed clean cut chaps that Hastings Banda would have been happy to have as Malawi`s musical ambassadors. And of course, as the video illustrates, love is for the Azungu.
It made the charts in SA, the video is by contemporary artists, not original artists. About the rest of the comments, it’s just typical uninformed banter.
Who is here in 2024 watching to this masterclass. I still don believe that these guys are from Malawi🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥
Those were the days when I felt proud to be Malawian. This piece of music was once in top 40 on the BBC top chart.
The time I listen this tune on Radio 1 MBC I thought, Is Jamaican jam 🔥🔥🔥🇲🇼

The bar was raised so high! I do not see many musicians surpassing this sort of performance!!!!!!!
Ndi bubblegum music yapanoyi akuti Afro i don't see Kalimba feat being surpassed in this generation.
