    The third screw on the Micro SD card board does not get removed (the one he is saying the lens housing blocks it, at 7:33). Only undo the two screws on outside edge of the board. Once the main board is separated from the front housing with the lens attached, you can undo the screw on the other side of the main board to remove the SD card board (but it's not necessary to do so actually). The reason he is having a hard time getting the screw out is because it's being done out of sequence.

    What is the prying kit (blue tools) that you are using? Is that something also from IFixIt?

      Are you trying to sell shit? This is not possible, in all these videos not a single one is clear enough to either fix the camera or address the obstacles needed to fix the camera. They all just make it look possible, and most times actually easy. I think this is a scam. GoPros are not manufactured by hand and are not meant to be taken apart. You can see that by the complexity of the arrangement of very delicate parts. If you're not an expert or sadist, honestly, don't even bother, at every turn you face a challenge which where you can break something, toss the GoPro and save yourself time, frustration, and the money IFixIt is charging for a replacement lens and all the other crap you probably bought off them to do the project.

    If someone can explain wtf he means by, "it's blocked, you're gonna have to work with it a bit" which board am I moving down and how? There's two parts both of which are secure.

      nagy norbert make sure all the connectors are in correctly. Make sure the ribbon cables are seated inside their connectors all the way too.

    Re: The 3 ribbon cables to the LCD. It IS possible to reconnect them. It requires: good vision, good tiny tools, good lighting, steady hands, lots of patience, lots of time. You must have all six of these to successfully reconnect the ribbons. When the ribbons are disconnected, the rear LCD as well as the top shutter/select button will not operate. It took me a total of approximately six hours of trying, over a period of a couple days, before I finally had ALL SIX elements necessary to successfully reconnect the ribbons.

    Is there no IR filter there somewhere or is it integrated in the lens housing somewhere?

    • @A1phaZu1u
      @A1phaZu1u  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taavi Koppel I'm not 100% sure but if I had to guess the IR filter is on the backside of the lens like most other lenses I've seen.

      Not really but it looks like the only way may be to separate the boards again and take that yellow tape off then unlatch them and put them in, tape em up good and try to assemble. I have been jacking with it for a couple hrs, sux when you can't see too good. Had to take a break from it.

      Larry Robinson. Were you ever able to successfully reconnect the three ribbons on your GoPro camera? I have the same issue. Thanks

    unscrewing the back-connector board isn't necessary i believe. So you don't have to mess with the screw thats underneath the lens holder.
