I had an MT-10 here in the US when they first came out. It was called an FZ-10 for one year here that year but it was otherwise the same MT-10 bike the rest of the world got. I loved that thing! The only issue that bothered me at all was the terrible range. I'd be willing to buy another one if I didn't have a better bike already
I've had my MT10 for nearly 4 years and I don't get this 'awful fuel consumption' thing. Watching a number of people on biking channels, I think I may understand why they get poor fuel consumption. They seem to be quite happy to ride along on major roads in much lower gears and therefore much higher revs., than I would. Why would you ride along on the motorway at 70-80 mph in 3rd or 4th gear at steady speed? One guy went all around a town on 30 amd 40mph roads in 1st gear. Gears are there to be used and don't get the idea I'm just a slow rider, I'm an ex-drag racer and motorcycle test rider. Use the bloody gears properly, it's not like this bike is short of mid range power.
Hmm after watching vids on the new MT10 I did wonder how yamaha could introduce an SP version, and for the 1st time for me, I have to say, unless it's literally under 500£ more I wouldn't be interested in the SP. Ps have you noticed the insane price dealers are asking for the old gen ? I've just seen a 2016 MT10 on sale for 9k , I'm pretty sure that bike was just shy of 9k when it was brand new
I’m sure it will be fantastic update but for me it’s still hard to get past the looks! Yamaha, please hire someone from Aprilia or Ducati design teams!

STILL not a fan of that headlight/nose...ugly. ALSO- the MT-10 has ZERO internal carrying capacity, you can't even carry a TOOLKIT. How can anyone ride around without a toolkit is beyond me; it's not "real world".
I must have been an unlucky owner as i got rid of my SP after various warranty issues .Traded it before the warranty ran out for a new gixxer1000 .Just surprised that Yamaha did not give it a decent power upgrade but in all honesty it does not really need it as riding a bike at high speed with straight bars and no fairing is hard work .

I will trade in my street triple for this one 😱
I just want to know if this one will come to the US. I rode the MT-10 have here for a test ride event, and i wasn't really blown away by it for the price they want for it, even used ones are asking MSRP at dealers around here
Hopefully the tour version is coming next, I’m sure you’ll let us know!
I always hear people asking for a XSR with the CP4. Yamaha will most likely have bags and taller windscreen.
Any idea if the 2022 Mat's will come with RED rims?
Probably just whack a belly pan on the standard MT, fit a system and away you go
Anything new from Kawasaki in the Sports Tourer range? New 2022 H2 Sports Tourer??
mate why are you not at EICMA, reading spec sheets is not fun
You can't actually get good content out there. I tried in 2019 and the lighting sucks, it's busy, it's noisy, there's no decent internet, nowhere to sit and edit. And it's expensive to get there. I'll cover a lot of these bikes in the flesh at Motorcycle live next week though.
@@motobob it is not always about content, sometimes it is for the event and new motorbikes in flesh. there is plenty of videos coming off, might take more effort but it is doable th-cam.com/video/2V0DzU_mK08/w-d-xo.html
V100 is the one I’m super interested in.
Currently searching for a bike that’ll give me giggles whenever asked of it and is still capable of running with liter bikes on the interstate. I was looking towards the new Busa but a naked bike seems way more reasonable and cheaper as well.
Even if I didn’t care about the options that come with the SP I’d still buy it just to have the SP color. The cyan storm is horrible in my opinion, but of course I’m one of those people that likes blacked out bikes and that’s probably what I’ll push towards with whatever I decide to get.
More torque in the mid range ?? 😳 yea cos the old model was really lacking in that department!! 🙈🤣🤣
Haha fair point
SP all the way!
Hoping that new belly pan will fit my 21 MT10
All really nice bikes 👌🏼
Is it mandatory since Euro 5 to make the exhaust as ugly as possible
Yamaha Super Nekad is really marvelous. The best design among the super nekad are the MV Agusta Dragster/Brutale and Kawasaki Z1000, Z900 & Z800.. other brand do have the look of super naked as the fuel tank do not have the nekad design.
Probably gonna buy one. Mt 10sp that is.
This is a great bike. Too fast for me, though. The MT-09 would be more me, especially seeing they've spoiled the XSR900.
Very competent looking bike. However, dont like any of the liverys. Please Yamaha do a yellow or red tribute...then I'll buy.
MV Agusta 9.5 next please.
As a Suzuki guy, I was really looking forward to buying the updated MT10 but something about the unveiling of the new headlights did not sit well with me compared to the previous gen. It is the only dealbreaker for me that I'm hoping it will grow on me one day. Other than that, this is a gorgeous bike everywhere else.
I feel it I was gonna buy a new mt09 but they changed the headlights and I found it hideous so I went with a older one that has the eyes
I have a 2018 MT 10 and although I love the hooligan nature of it, I'm looking forward to trying out the new Suzuki GSX s1000GT. Always loved Suzuki's Sport Tour line. category.
@@Beammeupscotty-w5x funny that you said that because I thought the GSXS1000GT was extremely hideous until I revisited it 2 weeks ago and the dad in me kinda want it. I'm more drawn into sport touring than ever before. I believe it's because I do solo missions nowadays and hardly ride with anyone
@@gsxraiders Im older and do mostly solo riding also. The Zuk is getting really good reviews for a modern Sport tour bike. Even if the engine is from 2006. LOL. The front looks like a Yamaha rip off but its not bad.
When you are riding the bike you don't see the headlights....problem solved! unless you are worried what others think?
I'd pick the 2021 MT-09 SP. In fact, I did.
Make an XSR version.
Love the color of the SP and hate the standard color. Won’t see the SP in the U.S. anyhow so looks like I wouldn’t be getting an MT 10 😔
The SP is coming to the U.S. My friend already ordered his, and is waiting in delivery to the dealership.
@@RichardASK Hi Richard. Just wondering what range you get cruising on the highway ?
Like a box of tasty chocolates... I'm torn for which one to choose in the packed Naked Catergory 🍫
Gotta love a reviewer backed by Peg Ass.
I've just seen a 2016 MT10 on sale for 9k , I'm pretty sure that bike was just shy of 9k when it was brand new
Speed triple RR.
I just gonna wait for new z1000 maybe other bikes new mt's not appealing to me. Great technology features but looks not for me.
I’m sure it will be fantastic update but for me it’s still hard to get past the looks! Yamaha, please hire someone from Aprilia or Ducati design teams!
hmm...After learning to not click on your videos anymore,
I thought perhaps I could force myself to watch this one if I muted the volume...
but then you kept switching footage from the bike commercial to the camera pointing at you...and then a few more seconds of looking at bike, and then you again...
yea, nah...
just closing tab.
Too bad they don’t make a sport tour bike with this motor…
How I wish to afford that one :( I really love bikes. i even work for Yamaha as sales representative just to get close to those beasts :( but it is only a dream for me :( I really pray to win a lottery or whatever to have this bike :'(. Thanks for the update mate :) Only Yamaha Revs my HEART
Nice
That one sided Headlight is triggering the shit out me. (-_-)
I've owned an 07 R1, 13 Stryker and now have my eyes set in the 22 MT10 SP... 😁
I hate the design. Just like the rest of the updated MT line. And I don't mean dislike, I mean HATE. It's such a shame they kinda ruined the new XSR, too.
Love the looks of the SP but paint color is boring.
I hate huge mufflers slapped on the side of the bike. Underbelly nicer
Amazing naked bike, still stuck with the type of face only a blind mother could love.
Right now Dark side of Japan bach in the party of supernaked
