Rotor-wing aircraft require atmosphere. This concept MIGHT work on Mars (which has an atmosphere, albeit a thin one), but not on the Moon, which is essentially a vacuum.
Upscale it to full size vehicles. Give it arms and make it into a mech type suite transformer vehicle with one of those big parachutes for long distance travel

That, my friend, is not the point. Not at all. It is a technology demonstration, and it is certainly useful for those who can see the value in it. There is a place for dedicated, narrow focus tools (vast majority). But there is also a small but highly profitable niche where multi-tools are preferable.
I think going from car to flying drone was FASTER than half fly/half wheel modes to overcome terrain. The focus on "energy saving" was too much. How much energy does it saves? 3-5%? If it was 10% that would b3 something.
Very useful in a tactical situation, drones get shot down when you hear them above you, this could get there. Switch to ground mode and creep around.
with this principle you may live to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension
@@Loktis compared to a human directly killing another human? Which is truly horrible?

Very cool concept.
Could be an advantage on Moon and Mars.
Aerial propellers on Moon and Mars? Don't think so.
@@steamtractoramplifiers5434 Ever heard of the Ingenuity helicopter?
This thing could be a lifesaver in Recon & Rescue missions!

@@chrisscala4221 The Ingenuity helicopter is already on Mars.
This is some really cool technology put into a small robot RC car.

can you make it,submersible drone too?
It reminds me of Arkham Knight batmobile
Go Mars, survey the planet for video and mapping. So we can have Google Mars, not just Google Earth.
Now insolate circuits and add two water bottles so it can swim.
UK company has patent pending 5 years
Make it water proof so it can dive underwater. All terrain.
It needs more than waterproofing to function in water.
Hey do you have any experience with making drones capable of underwater maneuvering I need help with that!

Very cool. Not nocking anything, but there is a better way😏. "From one thinker to another "
Is that path planning based on SLAM?

I can easily see that getting stuck in a pile of rocks😂
So you're saying, this robot can do ten different things, but each one ten times worse than a dedicated robot. Meh.

That's how calculator, notes pads, calendar, feel about smartphone ! 😂
looks good but i dont like the shitload of actuators that this robot is filled with
