That’s the whole thing- it’s not so much about the exercise, as it is about the grind. If you’re pushing yourself, you can do a bad exercise with bad form and still get gains
Even better, do push-ups w/ the rings on a firm surface while holding the top of the ring like it's a paralet (you may want to do them on soft surface like carpet or a yoga pad so the ring don't get dings in them). This requires more grip strength and HUGE wrist stability, and if you loose control, you can badly hurt yourself, so proceed with caution. Eg, all I can do is PUs w/ the rings on the back of the couch or a band assisted plank right now w/ the rings on the floor.

Why do you rotate your arms at the top of the motion? What parts benefit from that? Does it provide additional strength/technique for things like the planche?
I think some people do it to get a little bit more squeeze in the pecs, but if you rotate your palm all the way forward it can help build bicep tendon strength, which can help a little bit with planche but more importantly it helps avoid tearing the bicep during a workout Calimove recently uploaded a short about this, so i recommend you to watch it (calisthenicsmovement)
Try pseudo planche push ups on paralletes. Those give me crazy chest /shoulder pump and they always get sore the next day. The stretch on lower chest part is crazy and I feel like they would rip apart
Personally it helps me feel more squeeze of the pecs, but turning the palm all the way forward can help build bicep tendon strength. Calimove uploaded a short about that recently
Psalm 95:1-2: "Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!"
Thanks Daniel, love it! I have found that when doing dips and push ups the straps on the rings really cut up the top of my forearm... Do I need to be setting up differently?
It allows for a more stable and stronger contraction. Also studies have proven a reverse grip in horizontal pushing exercises to target the upper pectoral muscles slightly more.
Not sure what your budget is but you can always try a suspension trainer, like TRX 🤷♂️ not exactly rings but close enough and you can hook them over a door.
Nope other that you can change the distance between the rings. Never tried but i think since both trx are connected at one point it will grind on your side durjng the movement, but if that okay for you go ahead
@@янтабакин Thanks, man. I tried it and you're right. The bands are a limiting factor with TRX. Which isn't a huge dealbreaker. You still can do them and also have to work more to keep balance. But I rather do regular push-ups or use push-up bars for further range of motion. I'm interested in rings but I mostly train at home and my ceiling here isn't high enough to integrate them into the setup.
Cant get behind this one. The instability limits the power delivery and makes it more fatiguing, secondly you cant adjust your hand position to a close or wide stance to target specific muscles. People absolutely should be doing deficit pushups though, but you can use plates for that.
"Muscle is given to people who lean into that discomfort and PUSH."

@@BGeezy4sheezy the problem is that some exercises need to be performed with strict form to avoid injury in the long run.
Truest statement in building muscle I’ve come across. Literally seen the benefit because of that.
Ring push ups are GOAT. The stretch you can get is incomparable. Thanks Daniel for the quality of your content and the thorough explanations!
Try Vince Gironda Body Dips.
What about cable flies?
@@PiyushTalekar-n2ithat's cool too. And also you can do bodyweight ring chest fly

Ring push ups are my favorite. Feels great on my shoulders and I can push them hard. The squeeze you get at the top is phenomenal!
To "lean into discomfort". Thank you for this expression. It's the clue for buildung success in life! 🙂👍
I discovered this guy videos recent
Sounds and explaining things like an inteligent individual.
Thank you for your videos
Thanks for the fatigue management tip! I normally did dips after a bench or push up set
The OG! Godfather of calisthenics ! Such an honour listening to him. Thanks for the video!
The OGs would be people like Coach Paul Wade from 'Convict Conditioning' or Frank Medrano. This guy is fresh blood, new age boss! 😎👌🏼
@YaNeK92 Ok, I agree, but it's not always about "how long have you been in the game"... everyone mentioned is OG and goat. Keep grinding

Thank you for this! It's great advice!! 🙏👍🙌🔥
Rings are amazing & definitely challenge you! Thanks for great video.
This guy is Superman
Love your shorts G
Bruh your physique is Amazing!
well said, rings are goated!
Literally the best pec exercise ever.
So for starters.. even a knee push up with utmost control can gain you muscle? And focusing on form than momentum?
I do knee pushups as warmup and then do pushups till failure
problem with that method though is i don't know at what point is it junk volume
He's thé best innit!
Wow duderino you’re killing it!
Been hunting a rack/pull up bar on marketplace to be able to suspend my rings from! 😎👌🏼
Bring rings together at end of each rep.
Rings are my primary go to for training
Tried these and ring dips after watching the video and is way harder than it looks.
Supinate/pronate your hands throughout the rep, not just at the end.
Ring push ups are my finishing exercise 💪🏽 gnarly pump from those babies too
Gym rings is the most worth it $12 I've ever spent. Muscles work extra hard using it.
Just wanna ask, when you started doing ring pushups, how many reps did you "lose" compared to standard floor pushups?
It’s like dumbbell press with more constant tension
Why do you rotate your arms at the top of the motion? What parts benefit from that? Does it provide additional strength/technique for things like the planche?

Ok, I'll always use the extensive ring setup I have in my living room.
is a work of kings
Thank you. I tryed and it is great. I just have elbow pain a lot when to turn rings on the top position. Do you have some tip? Thank you
Other than dips,I don't feel like anything has got me as sore or feeling as hard and strong in the muscle as ring push ups did. Intense.
Try pseudo planche push ups on paralletes. Those give me crazy chest /shoulder pump and they always get sore the next day. The stretch on lower chest part is crazy and I feel like they would rip apart
What is a substitute for rings? Sheets over a bar?
please do a tutorial on how to set up rings to get the most out of them 🙏🙏🙏
I gonna try this tomorrow 🎉
Amazing reel. Thoughts on the perfect push up rotating handles? Similar?
Elevated pike push ups or Hspu on rings.
Why do you turn your hands at the top of the ring push up?
Personally it helps me feel more squeeze of the pecs, but turning the palm all the way forward can help build bicep tendon strength. Calimove uploaded a short about that recently
Literally ring dips and ring pushups is all you need for chest.
Psalm 95:1-2: "Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!"
What about trx handles that aren’t rings
Well I have push up bar😁
I do these and then "click" the rings together at the top of the rep along with doing a supinated grip from bottom to top every few reps.
Is this why male gymnasts have the most insane biceps for people who aren't bodybuilders ?
I do ring flies with straight arm for maltes and iron cross and the biceps, chest and shoulders gains are insane
“I got my muscles from ring pushups” in reality, he did what all of us do, added ring push ups and then made a video about it
Where to find rings placed so near the floor?
Wird gemacht Sir!😂
Thanks Daniel, love it! I have found that when doing dips and push ups the straps on the rings really cut up the top of my forearm... Do I need to be setting up differently?
Why do you twist/turn your arms to the side after every rep???
It's to get a full lockout
It allows for a more stable and stronger contraction. Also studies have proven a reverse grip in horizontal pushing exercises to target the upper pectoral muscles slightly more.
What the others said, plus it works the bicep supination movement
Can women do these too?
Pls suggest best rings to buy
Im shaking so much, what can I do?
Are dips a vertical push or horizontal push movement
dayum your front delts are hugeeee
Will you get the same effect from trx bands?
🔥🔥🔥
I don't think my gym has rings 😔 looks like a great chest workout tho
What about having those low friction pads under the hands? I’m thinking it will mimic the converging of the rings
Isn't this like using the perfect pushup handles ?
Trx works ínstead of rings?
I dont't have rings and room for it😭😭😭😭😭
Same, I have nowhere to put them

@@AcarediaThankyou❤ i'll keep that in mind.
You can install the rings in the branch of a tree, just got to adjust the length
Rings over a doorframe pull-ups bar
How does one ease into these assuming lack of stability/strength?
Then is massive harder to do?
Any downsides using TRX instead?
