I think it’s called paint chipping and it’s only happening with the midnight color if you search on pages, from my personal experience I have never had that kind of problem with my device
for me the 14 is basically the same with only small improvements in performance. the health feature like crash detection and sos is something i will never use, so i’ll save 100 bucks
