It took me by surprise that pull tabs started as early as 1963. I remember being impressed with them when they arrived but that was in my teens. Perhaps they arrived a lot later on this side of the Atlantic? Cheers Kev.
@MarkMcCluney “Zip Taps” were an early form of pull tab. When they realized pull tabs were a littering nuisance the “stay tab” was invented and came into play! I was always amazed how they can “cut into” a can a certain depth (of the minimal thickness) to make a pull tab work..👍🤓👍Thanks Mark
Heck ya! Maybe once or twice a year my mom would buy a six pack of soda…Bottles… Can wise, I used to try to reach up inside the soda machines and grab a can …Thanks Brent👍
Yet I must admit that seeing these cans, with all their history behind them, as well as many other articles of this kind in general, always evokes a historical memory in me, like when I played with them as a child as a shopkeeper who sold beers and spirits to the neighborhood children. Your videos are always so beautiful. 💎💎💎🤠🤠🤠🤓🤓🤓🤠🤠🤠💯💯💯
Awesome video brother. Thanks for sharing. Man that is one old can. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
Thank you for the morning chuckle Ed. For the record I am older than ball point ink pens, and the OSHA requirement roll over protection. In fact the farm kids were annoyed when they were told tractors should have roll bars. I was in Jr High.
Mr. Gosselin, you worked too hard yesterday and stayed up too late........you've got your nose in biscuits and gravy .....He wasn't in high school in 36, Thirty six was his final grade in math class.
Kev, I did enjoy the video! when you start talking about cans, I always learn something new! I will start looking for Blatz cans now when I'm out and about.
@Boyd1875 Thanks, Boyd! Just to let you know, my comments aren’t registering anywhere on your videos… I understand you may have them turned off, but even the ones that aren’t disabled when I push it, ( to comment) it doesn’t do anything?
