@@ufcmmafighter1921 Hi, if your dog is flying into the US from a high risk rabies country after the 1st of August, 2024 and the permit is also issued after the 1st of August, then you need to fly into an airport where there is a CDC Animal Care Facility as well. You would need to make an appointment with them. The purpose is to evaluate your dog and revaccination of rabies vaccine even if you have a rabies titer test. The appointment and revaccination is chargeable. If you're planning on importing your dog before the 31st of August, 2024 and you can also apply for the permit by the 31st of July, 2024. I just do not know how to get her flight tickets then, separate it or like together with one day lay over ?! So confused.
We need to talk about the extra fees the care facility is charging, in addition to the microchip, serology, vaccinations, and health certificates. We still have to pay around $1,500 just to bring our furry family members into the country. I believe this is a way for the government to discriminate against certain countries. They need to understand that these animals are part of our family. No one would travel or move to another country and leave their child behind, for example. It’s not fair that such high costs are imposed on responsible pet owners who are simply trying to bring their beloved companions with them. For many of us, abandoning our pets is not an option. They are our family members, and we deserve to relocate with them without facing prohibitive financial barriers. I hope the government will reconsider these fees and regulations and make the process less burdensome for people who just want to keep their families-human or not-together. This version emphasizes the emotional aspect while also addressing the financial burden.
I have been dealing with this for months. I was supposed to fly my dogs from Dubai to Chicago. Have had to change our flight to Washington DC as it is the closest airport to the midwest that allows travel by excess baggage. Then the flight was delayed because the registered CDC animal care facility wouldn't accept the titer test because one of my dogs' vaccines wasn't given on the day it expired back in 2021 so the 3 year vaccine was null and void. We had to do another vaccine and another titer test...All is now hopefully in order so we can finally travel in November. After they are released from the CDC facility in Washington, DC we will need to fly again to the midwest. At least we can travel together. BTW...how is the UAE a high risk country in the first place?

@eldalemus2480 No worries, if your dog has been in a high-risk rabies country within the last 6 months, then you will need to make an appointment with a CDC registered animal care facility. I have one question I am doing the process for my dog coming from brazil flying straight to atlanta as my final destination. When completing the Certification of U.S.-issued Rabies Vaccination form, does it have to be a USDA accredited vet from brazil ? I didnt see you mentioned that part in the video
Hey, Thanks for reaching out. Your veterinarian would only fill out the US-issued vaccination form if your dog was vaccinated against rabies in the US. If you have a US Rabies Vaccination Certificate then you will only need this cerificate and an approved CDC Import Form for the import in the USA. If your dog has been vaccinated against rabies outside the US, then your veterinarian will need to complete the Certification of Foreign Rabies Vaccination and Microchip form. You’ll also need to follow all the other steps required for import. I am doing paper work for importing dog from Ecuador to Miami. The USDA has certified vets on all countries. Have to contact the vet in Brazil. Better follow list of required documents by CDC, UTO, CDC pet limo at arrival airport. Pet limo haa list of brokers. Very expensive pet limo. Good luck and be ready to spend at least $3000.
2 question. First one. Coming in from high risk country with foreign vax and all proper paperwork but my flight connects to an airport not inspection approved. Example connects into Texas before going on to lax where my resv is with. Will they take my cabin pet away from me?. 2nd question is, you said lax is charging over a 1,000 but there is another place on that list that qoute 900.00 just an fyi.
Hey Cindy, Thanks for your comment. This is a great question. Based on my experience traveling in the US, all passengers with connecting flights in the US would need to exit the aircraft and clear US immigration and customs. This means the connecting city would actually be the Port of Entry (if you are traveling with a pet in the cabin or pet as excess baggage). In this case, this would not be allowed and may cause some issues. I would get in touch with a CDC-Animal Care Facility as they would be able to best advise on this.

Are you saying she would need another titer drawn 30 days after second vaccine? I understood that as long as she gets vaccinated on schedule she does not need another titer??
Hey Charlotte, Thanks for your comment and question. The CDC website is not so clear about this situation. If another rabies vaccine is given, you may have to get another titer test done. But it would be best to double-check with a CDC Animal-Care Facility on this.

If I watched that earlier my profit would be 888.23$ and my dog wouldn't have to wait 2 days in CDC Facility. But thank you anyway 😀 I almost skipped FMD Cert.
I started a petition to revoke this law ... message me if youre interested in the link ... i understand these laws for high risk countries but not low-risk some laws should stay like vaccines rabies cert but everything else is ridiculous
They are hurting honest breeders to stop the actions of dishonest shippers. People adopting puppies to train for service work need to get them as early as possible, not wait for six month after birth. You miss critical bonding periods .
What are your thoughts on the new CDC rules? Leave a comment!
I wonder if U.S. Congress has anything to do with this law ?

Safe travels
This service is very expensive to the point where some people leave their pets behind when having to move abroad.
What a tragedy.
You are right! Hopefully they change it again in the future.
Does U.S. Congress have anything to do with this rule ?
Honestly, I’m not sure, but there are a few petitions trying to reverse the new rules.

What happens if you import from a low risk country, does all this apply?
If you're traveling into the US from a low-risk country, then no, this wouldn't all apply. But some rules do. You can find the most up to date information using the CDC's Dog Bot. www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs.html Hope this helps
I appreciate your help
If I watched that earlier my profit would be 888.23$ and my dog wouldn't have to wait 2 days in CDC Facility. But thank you anyway 😀 I almost skipped FMD Cert.
Oh no, I am so sorry you had such a bad experience with the import process! Thank you for sharing. I'm glad your pup is with you now safe and sound.
@@PAWDEGA our flight is at November 15th. we are still waiting response from the nyc ops. hope it will be fine. either way you have my gratitude!
I started a petition to revoke this law ... message me if youre interested in the link ... i understand these laws for high risk countries but not low-risk some laws should stay like vaccines rabies cert but everything else is ridiculous
I also got celebrity Christine Elise to share my petition on her Facebook and instagram stories
It sucks for people who cross the border from Canada into the US.
Just put out the link out here?
I am interested
This just makes me angry
They are hurting honest breeders to stop the actions of dishonest shippers. People adopting puppies to train for service work need to get them as early as possible, not wait for six month after birth. You miss critical bonding periods .
So true. Hopefully there will be some adjustments to these rules!
Sounds to me like the cdc found a new way to make money
