Gravel Union - Travel Gravel - Nepal

If you think about destinations where riding a gravel bike would be the perfect choice, it's unlikely that Nepal would be your first choice. Most cyclists who venture to this incredible part of the world do so on mountain bikes, in search of incredible singletrack with mind-bending backdrops of the high Himalaya.
While the MTB riding in Nepal is undoubtedly outstanding, there's plenty of mule trails, smoother singletracks and 4x4 tracks to get you away from the paved ones. This footage for this video was shot back in 2010, before gravel bikes even existed. At the time, a lightweight XC bike was all we had access to and while they were perfect for the more gnarly trails that we found, an adventure bike with big tyres would have arguably been better for a good chunk of our trip.
