Loving the new mash-up! Dunno if it's because there's a time limit or if they just wanted us to hear something new, either way I still find this new Ex-wives/Six remix refreshing to hear.
It's awesome to see this collab, but I would have loved to see the ice skaters more in just this video. I know this is meant to promote Six the musical, but the lack of screen time even when the skaters are doing something cool is a little like we're missing out. (like when the Howard skater did a jump and spin, the camera literally only cuts to it JUST in time.)
Not sure what you saw but if it’s the bit at 2.04 then nope the cameras were on the skaters at 1.50 spinning on each other then the cameras switched onto the girls at 2.00 for 4 seconds before it went back to wide angle with Boleyn and Parr skater skating and past and Howard had her back to the camera on the far right. And then at 2.005 Howard skater turned around and jumped and spun. So not sure what you saw but the cameras didn’t go to howard at the last second it was already waiting for howard to turn around and do her jump and spin unless you are talking about another section
Honestly, the fact that Six has not enforced the traditional stereotypes of who can be attractive or who can be successful on stage is SO GODDAMN REFRESHING. Get them lovely ladies of color and them girls who ain't small and ain't afraid to own it on those stages and let them glitter and shine as they so naturally do!
Having said all that about this show being so diverse, I wish that the producers and casting directors of Six the Musical can be open for musical theatre actress/singers who are age 50 and older. I’m turning 50 in October, who sings, dances and acts, plus I was told by lots of people that I look like I’m in my 30’s, even 20’s. 🙏🏼🤞🏼
I’m not dissing the queens (coz I know they don’t get to decide witch but they do ) I’m just saying that it would ah e been a lot better if they went with the first half of the song “He got down on one knee but I said no way …etc etc” But still loved it and love the queens
Loved this but SIX is known for the choreography while singing. Would have loved to see the skaters trying to replicate that. But loved the details of them wearing the colours tho.
What annoys me is anytime they have singers on these type of shows there are too many times the cameras focus on them rather than the skaters. Same with strictly when they have a singer on. Just ridiculous to show a close up of singers who are at the end of the day are just singing (with a bit of choreography) when the focus should be on the ice dancers.
The whole reason the singers are on there is to promote their material, such as a tour, live show or new album. These shows wouldn’t even have performers like this if they didn’t get some promo and the whole attention is on the ice dancers. I actually think it is more disrespectful to focus on the skaters more, while the guests are trying to perform. Also, these are musical theatre performers so it isn’t just the singing voice that’s important, it’s the whole thing as a package, the vocals, stage presence, acting, visuals, costumes etc.
