im 4c high porosity and i suffered with dryness that when someone told me to co wash daily,i did it.4 months in i wouldnt have it any other way ,prior to that no product however good,worked. now barely use product other than leave in conditioner because it all gets washed out next day.my hair finally grew! and was able to retain lenght.got no time for deep conditioners because im conditioning daily ,combing my hair is easy , hardly turns into a frizzy fro.

Honestly I didnt even know about hair porosity. I just thought it was dry and no matter what I did nothing helped. My hair is low porosity af. I always did cold water on my hair and it still felt awful. So Happy I found your channel researching bonnets. I never learned this stuff growing up, parents didnt care. So Im in my 30s figuring it out XD Its been 2 days of sleeping with a bonnet, and using hot water on hair to get it clean and such a huge different already. Just to be clear, you were using the word cuticle correctly. Porosity only applies to the cuticle layer of the hair and the amount of moisture the cuticle allows through it. Hair doesn't have pores. Helpful info regardless. Great video

I have to use cool water, because my hair is color treated. With color treated hair, my stylist said that if you don't want your color to fade, wash, rinse and condition in lukewarm or cool water.

I just found out that I was low porosity. All this time I was thinking all this time that I was going to have high porosity because of how dry and quick my hair would get dry( like later that day or next morning type of dry)😩😩😩 but maybe I'm not using the right products or moisturizing my hair properly. I have always used thicker creams and at first it seemed to do me some justice, and butters would help keep my hair moisturized for at least 2 days. Now I gotta start all over🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ and rearrange everythang😭🤣. Do you habe any recommendations for a leave-ins? I know liquid leave ins are best.

But so many low porosity naturals use JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) to seal their hair after the LCO method and they claim it works so well even tho JBCO is a very thick oil.

I’m a woman but I watch your videos because my husband and son have hair like yours 😊 but the last thing he said is real shit. I have hair down my back and I shampoo every Sunday with a sulfate shampoo (I like Aussie moist or head and shoulders royal oils). ALWAYS follow with a moisturizing and/or strengthening deep conditioner and you’ll be fine!

Aye king bril I have low porosity curly type 4 hair and I been first rinsing my hair in warm water first to open the pores and then apply the products and then leaving the conditioner in a few minutes and rinsing with cold water to close the pores ,would this be bad for my hair because for me it leave my hair really shiny and curly but I wanted to know if I should switch it up for better results and just use warm water
