Sorry for the delay getting this video out. My PC died the other day and In the process of fixing it I lost all my TH-cam files. EDit: The voting poll is now active on the video at around 13:10 , I forget to add it when the video went live.
The SE-14c is my go-to close up weapon, the EE-3 is my long range weapon. I've found that, for midrange shooting (say 50m), the SE-14c is more reliable for some reason. The DH-17 feels like it just sprays all over the place, while the SE-14c seems to send all 5 shots closer to where you are aiming. In practice, at close range, if you are accurate, SE-14c wins every time, but if you fluff your shot, the DH-17 will probably win. The best way to use the SE-14c is to ambush, it's probably the second best ambush weapon behind the shock blaster. Hide behind a ridge or a tree, pop out and take the first shot. You now have a 1v1 duel with somebody at half health at worst, or maybe on no health at all, an easy win.
Passive-Aggressive Blitzkrieg Doesn't help them much unless they have quick reflexes, because by the time they line up the shot, you are firing a second burst right at them and usually finishing them off.
Once again, top notch quality from OTAKU. It is really awesome that you are one of the few youtubers that actually cares about making good videos and not just creating shitty click bait ones to make some fast money.
I use the DH-17 more often bc I like the fire patterns better. It's also the first pistol you get, really, with others being subsequent unlocks that are more specialized. The sight on the one could be nice, but I find when I use a blaster I'm going from the hip, close quarters, 12 person games indoors. I tend to choose the DH-17, but that's without analysis, and it's been a while since I used the other. Frankly, the shock blaster has been working great for me in most games, like blast: my movement isn't frantic enough to dodge, so one shot kills are important. I keep hitting with other guns, striking headshots, crosshairs up, but losing the few points between me getting them and them killing me. These videos really are helping me play, btw. My scores and enjoyment are way up thanks specifically to you, Otaku, so thank you. Great job. Would like to see you post some play-by-play videos. Maybe guides to specific levels? How to not suck: Endor, places to go, paths to take?

In CQB you pretty much always get a 1 burst kill, but it has more flexibility than the CA-87.
Great video. Personally, I can't ever use the DH-17. Every now and then I see someone using it effectively, and I think I should give it another try. Then after 1 or 2 rounds, I go back to using weapons with higher skill ceilings. The peashooter can be fun, but man is it not competitive.

OMG thanks so much Otaku you gave helped me so much you've helped my K/D Ratio go from 0.91 to 1.44 and I got 58 and 8 in extraction today. So thanks for all the tips and blaster showdowns that helped me get a boost.

I'm kind of torn over these two. I used to use the SE-14C almost exclusively, but lately I haven't been doing too well with killing a group of enemies quickly. I started to use the DH-17, and with a bit of practice I got a k/d of 29 to 3 in a game of Cargo. Maybe it's the better accuracy, but I find the DH better for close range with open spaces such as the Palace Garage and the Hoth Hangar.
+obsessedwithTF1 The problem is that when you have open areas, targets tend to move around more and make some of the shots from the SE-14C burst a little hard to connect...which means you aren't utilizing it's crazy TTK.
Another great review - thank you! Personally I've had a lot of success with the DH-17 - and I favour it for nostalgic reasons. It's pretty much the first blaster you see in Episode IV...
Great video Otaku, well edited and very informative. Only constructive criticism would be is that you were talking a *little* fast, try slowing it down a bit, you sounded like you were late for a meeting or something haha. But other than that, well done on another awesome video.
something I would like to point out is that the utility of these weapons also depends on what platform you are playing on. consoles may have a tougher time using the sebecause we can't point and click with a controller. granted, I don't practice on improving my accuracy but the dh is more useful in close quarters like blast because of its predictability and accuracy.

A lot of the stats regarding the Se-14c depend on all 5 rounds landing on target. So, while its time to kill up close is much better, any wayward rounds, as with all burst-fire weapons, tend to punish you. As a close-range weapon, and based on my own experience, it is extremely difficult to land a full burst at long range. In my opinion, the long-range performance arguement should not carry much if any weight regarding these two blasters, because neither one is very practical beyind 30 meters. Nonetheess, I would agree with your assessment of the SE-14c as the overall superior blaster, primarily because the DH-17's advantage lies only within a very small 5 meter margin.
All scenarios assume that you don't suck and are using the weapons appropriately, as it really shouldn't be hard to do. For example, getting all 5 rounds of burst to land in CQB really isn't hard. Sure at long ranges it might be more difficult, but you should only really be trying to secure a kill at that range if you know for sure that you can (Target is standing still, exposed or low on health). At the same time, sure a burst missing some rounds sucks, but so does missing with any weapon?
Very true. I do not disagree with your analysis. I understand that it is kind of hard to account for human error, and realize that it is easy to land all 5 rounds up close. Because of the much faster automatic-ness, and that the amount of recoil the SE-14C has is kind of undermined in symthic.com. In reality, the spread and recoil from burst fire on the SE-14C is pretty much nothing and it's no reason to choose the DH-17 over it. Where as the TTK that the SE-14C has is very real and very worth choosing.
Ahh, I see. Just when I'm playing I tend to feel like my screen is flying away when I use the 14C, although I prefer it over the DH-17. What I'm trying to say, is that for me, (I'm not very good) it is harder to shoot targets from far away. But I totally understand now. Thank you so much for informing me even further!
Malcolm Lyon The SE-14C isn't meant to be constantly sprayed over and over. You need to line up and connect before you shoot. If you just point and spray then of course the recoil can take over as you are not giving it time to reset.
I honestly like both blasters. I use certain ones in certain situations. -A tip to Otaku, maybe you could make a "like both" option, that would be easier on me and maybe others...
The problem with the SE (my favourite weapon still) is that if the enemy is runny sideways you usually only hit 4/5 of the shots, making it 2 burst. I find in choke points I will kill 4 enemies before over heat because of this. For indoor maps where the enemy is not madly strafing the SE is better, and getting those jump pack melts on cargo carriers is great. I feel like the best blaster depends on your trait, with scout the SE is deadly, I often go roughly 35-2 while the DH with berserker is godly, I joined in the second half of a cargo match and finished 26-0. So it all depends. I loved this video though, I just feel that 33% of the time with the SE it's a 2 burst weapon.
that's why you lead you targets because with automatic weapons you don't need to lead your target as you just aim and hold the trigger burst weapons require more fitness I had to learn this using the EE-3 at long ranges where you have to get 3 bursts to hit your target for a kill also it's easier to lead targets hip firing instead of zooming in down the sights
I like how the dh17 let's you not pay as much attention to who your shooting so you can plan your next target. that said, might have to give the sc a serious go again

+OTAKU what do you think of berserker, and do you think it is worth using over bodyguard? I think personally lean toward bodyguard because it is still good at levels one and two, and you don't have to use adrenaline stim or bacta bomb to maximize its potential.
+Burntcookie007 Very good points, I feel the same way. I have used Berserker quite extensively by itself and with the other cards to balance the load out. While it's fun and has crazy potential, it's also very limiting and selfish. The only think that load out is good for is K/D.
+OTAKU Exactly. It just isn't as feasible to play the objective without scan pulse or personal shield. The only time I feel like I should use this load out is in blast, but in all honesty, nobody wants to play that mode. I think I'll stick to bodyguard or scout for most situations.
I think more people would use the DH-17 only because it is much easier to use than the SE-14C. SE-14C is better in my opinion, but needs a bit more skill to use. Another Great Vid OTAKU!

I prefer the DH-17 because its easier for me to adjust my shot when I can track the stream of bullets coming out the blaster. I get into a lot of blaster fights and the constant rate of fire has proven to win me match up easier than a blaster with a low rate of fire or burst. I'm really surpised the A280c outmatched the E-11 I always thought the E-11 was best.
I like the Dh-17 over the Se14-C because it is more forgiving and controllable while you are moving around like a mad man. What I lack in accuracy I make up in agility.
I kind of prefer the DH-17 simply because I like the feel of automatic guns more but I think the SE-14C is by far the stronger gun. I played a game of extraction the other day where I almost single-handedly held back the enemy team and it was entirely due to the SE-14C. It's pretty much a one shot cannon as is but when you throw berserker in the mix it basically makes you unstoppable.
Since I usually can get more kills with it, my vote is for the *peashooter* Great video Otaku, please keep them coming (btw, did you get that video capture card?)

+Malcolm Lyon Disagree, it's the pure recoil and spread stats that gave the DH-17 any wins at all. In reality, the spread and recoil from burst fire on the SE-14C is pretty much nothing and it's no reason to choose the DH-17 over it. Where as the TTK that the SE-14C has is very real and very worth choosing.

Ahh, I see. Just when I'm playing I tend to feel like my screen is flying away when I use the 14C, although I prefer it over the DH-17. What I'm trying to say, is that for me, (I'm not very good) it is harder to shoot targets from far away. But I totally understand now. Thank you so much for informing me even further!

The SE-14C isn't meant to be constantly sprayed over and over. You need to line up and connect before you shoot. If you just point and spray then of course the recoil can take over as you are not giving it time to reset.

The problem with the SE (my favourite weapon still) is that if the enemy is runny sideways you usually only hit 4/5 of the shots, making it 2 burst. I find in choke points I will kill 4 enemies before over heat because of this. For indoor maps where the enemy is not madly strafing the SE is better, and getting those jump pack melts on cargo carriers is great. I feel like the best blaster depends on your trait, with scout the SE is deadly, I often go roughly 35-2 while the DH with berserker is godly, I joined in the second half of a cargo match and finished 26-0. So it all depends. I loved this video though, I just feel that 33% of the time with the SE it's a 2 burst weapon.
that's why you lead you targets because with automatic weapons you don't need to lead your target as you just aim and hold the trigger burst weapons require more fitness I had to learn this using the EE-3 at long ranges where you have to get 3 bursts to hit your target for a kill also it's easier to lead targets hip firing instead of zooming in down the sights
+Michael “EviLL I” Smith This is exactly right, if you lead your shot just very slightly, then you can connect all 5 rounds on moving targets.

+OTAKU what do you think of berserker, and do you think it is worth using over bodyguard? I think personally lean toward bodyguard because it is still good at levels one and two, and you don't have to use adrenaline stim or bacta bomb to maximize its potential.
+Burntcookie007 Very good points, I feel the same way. I have used Berserker quite extensively by itself and with the other cards to balance the load out. While it's fun and has crazy potential, it's also very limiting and selfish. The only think that load out is good for is K/D.
+OTAKU Exactly. It just isn't as feasible to play the objective without scan pulse or personal shield. The only time I feel like I should use this load out is in blast, but in all honesty, nobody wants to play that mode. I think I'll stick to bodyguard or scout for most situations.

I think more people would use the DH-17 only because it is much easier to use than the SE-14C. SE-14C is better in my opinion, but needs a bit more skill to use. Another Great Vid OTAKU!

with skill se-14c dominates but dh-17 is the go-to for a noob as even skilled players don't hit their mark with all 5 bursts, so even a fuck up of one bullet not hitting the dh-17 will own assuming the player. is accurate

I prefer the DH-17 because its easier for me to adjust my shot when I can track the stream of bullets coming out the blaster. I get into a lot of blaster fights and the constant rate of fire has proven to win me match up easier than a blaster with a low rate of fire or burst. I'm really surpised the A280c outmatched the E-11 I always thought the E-11 was best.

I like the Dh-17 over the Se14-C because it is more forgiving and controllable while you are moving around like a mad man. What I lack in accuracy I make up in agility.

I kind of prefer the DH-17 simply because I like the feel of automatic guns more but I think the SE-14C is by far the stronger gun.
I played a game of extraction the other day where I almost single-handedly held back the enemy team and it was entirely due to the SE-14C. It's pretty much a one shot cannon as is but when you throw berserker in the mix it basically makes you unstoppable.
