- 20 Times Volleyball Team Japan Confused the World !!! The Japan men's national volleyball team (Japanese: 男子バレーボール日本代表) represents Japan in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Japan Volleyball Association. Their nickname is "RYUJIN NIPPON (龍神 NIPPON)", meaning "Japanese Dragon God" or "Dragon God of Japan" in Japanese.[1] Japan won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games, followed by silver at Mexico 1968 and a gold at Munich 1972. The years after this have been less successful. Japan missed three successive Olympic Games before returning at Beijing 2008, where they failed to win a match. Japan then failed to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games and also missed Rio 2016 after finishing seventh at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo.
They also failed to qualify for the 2014 FIVB World Championship the first edition they had missed in 54 years. They had previously won FIVB World Championship bronze medals in 1970 and 1974. Japan silver medalists at the 1969 and 1977 World Cup. Japan has been less successful in the World League era. The team has won the Asian Championships nine times and the Asian Games eight times.
In August 2021, at 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan team advanced to the Quarterfinals round and eventually finished at seventh place, the highest rank since 29 years.

it is not. the only exception is that you're not allowed to kick to serve the ball, but as long as the ball is in play and the touch would be legal, you're allowed to use any part of the body to touch the ball

I asked this question on two other volleyball videos, but no one answered. Serious question: Why is there always one person on each team dressed differently? SURELY SOMEONE MUST KNOW THE ANSWER.
The player that is dressed differently on each team is called a Libero who’s job is keep and ball in play and get it to the setter
The libero need a different uniform color because they have to get in and out from the court frequently due to their limited positions in the court. For example when the rotation made them in position 1 (or being the one who needs to serve the ball), the libero will change their position with other player who usually specialized in serve, and after another rotation, the libero will comeback to the court .
But CMIIW, I'm not an english native speaker so maybe my explanation is a little bit hard to understand, sorry. Hope you get the point tho 😁

@@mohamednaweeth3612 i think they can go to front row but only when they need to receive the ball(?). They can't attack like the other player tho, and if they want to set the ball for other player, they need to do that in the back row (but this is what I know from an anime called Haikyuu lol 🤣)
