This guy got his own signature bass playing 4 chord eighth note rhythms .... legend
😂😂
Girls went ape for him back in the day too, I remember it well. But good for him I enjoyed their music.
Fuck - i desperately want to hear all the instruments separately now, it sounds so sick
I agree 💯, I want to hear the drums especially in love from the other side.
There are alot of various videos on TH-cam right now where you can hear everything you're asking for.
Joe's demo of his fractal axefx.
Andy's drum rundown video.
Patrick has alot of videos of him playing his parts solo.
And now this.
Also, Tape Notes video with Patrick and Neal Avron talking through the production of SMFS
this guy is such a smart guy. he's got spider senses on trends
is the first video on youtube with pete playing bass on his own????????
I believe so
This is the longest I have ever heard Pete play bass isolated without a band
6:04 that low D note is pummeling
It’s like his tone now has balls the p basses didn’t have
As a certified bass snob…..that tone in the background sounds killer! I am very pleasantly surprised.
I didn’t expect this much drive in the sound
just barely fuzzy kinda reminds me of an orange amp
I bought the orange version of the signature bass! It’s my favourite next to my 40th anniversary squier!
You mean red
*******Keeping it simple really! BASSic as would a Foundation be. A GOOD foundation of Percussion with BASSic anchored itself tightly together and strong provides great Towerings of Rhythm and Melody to Structurally remain Sound! Ya gotta have it! Doesn't always have to be Techy, Mathmatical and mind blowing to be Rock Solid. However...keep it passionate, Emotional and Human!!!*******
I love mania so much.
Infinity/cork tree is better
Me too, it's very mad and angry, but in a very subtle way, like Dexter bringing donuts, to make everyone think he's normal.
Great interview!

LOVE FOB WOOOO !
the emo king 👑🖤
Pete "Adjacent" Wentz
Cool Bass!
Love it!
More string theory videos pls 🙏 ❤
Glad to to see Wentz getting a better signature bass, maybe it’ll make him care more about his playing
Don't count on it. Lmao. I love Pete but his playing is always gonna be perfunctory.
I like his P-bass tone more
Thank you For everything! #lavaboots
Let me correct you Pete, what MGK is doing is not cool. I heard the hesitation bud
Is Nikki Sixx next?
Niceeeeeee
Fall Out Boy Bassist Pete Wentz
Should’ve just made your signature bass with two strings
Good point! But, it's been done by The Presidents of the United States of America, as well as D.A.D. So, maybe Pete could do something _adjacent_ and just have 1 string.
man shut up
@@EdwoodCAtake a shot every time he says adjacent
Or any time he says “record” or “like.”
a lot of the songs on the past three albums use all four strings.
i saw bass players using sx basses getting a better tone than it kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
😅
His playing sounds like an emo teenager learning bass in his bedroom you know what I mean.
So where’s your band that tours with Blink 182 etc?
I’m js, if he can get a sig I can get a sig lmao
huge fan of FOB, I don’t hate Pete at all and I like his lyrics but who the f cares about his bass play man. He doesn’t record his part in the studio and he even doesn’t play that bassline on Church during shows.
Pete doesn't record his parts in studio?
@@carloquibot I don’t know about SMFS or the early days but during MANIA era mostly it was synth bass which I guess was programmed by Patrick or Butch. Even the one’s that has actual bass in it was recorded by them. Just watch the Church breakdown video, Pat talks about how he and Butch came up with the bassline
@@fxEpT7Si I think it's possible Patrick and the producers play it when Pete can't, but if it's simple enough Pete probably plays it. Though his live performances do make me wonder, as the album/studio bass always sounds way more confident and together.
Bassline are essential in every song.. there is a reason why metallica fans still complain about the missing of the bassline of "and justice for all"
@@fxEpT7Sifor Mania i do also believe its synth bass and in Church it is plainly stated by Patrick that Butch made the bassline, but for most of the old albums if you separate the bassline you can hear Pete's playing, the tendency to hit every string while muting them, and the streamline bass playing, its mostly him. I came to the conclusion that if there was any bass part that was a little more complex, they( Patrick and whoever would be the producer at the time) would over dub it while keeping Petes work overall on the easiest parts. I can hear this specially in Folie a Deux in songs like disloyal order and wams.
The Nikki Sixx of the 2000s wrote all the songs but can’t play his instrument. For sure uses backtracks
I was always a Ernie ball guy but latelly i noticed something diferent on the strings it didnt felt like before and i have been broking them more often wich made me think, something not right,so goodbye Ernie Ball after all this years i was a loyall costumer but iam gone change team cause something is not smelling good to me about your strings quality latelly.👋
Wow! He's more terrible at bass than I thought. And I thought he was pretty bad 😅
he's not terrible, he provides solid simple bass parts that the band's music requires
his timing seems bad right?
Even in this video though hes falling in and out of time by just hitting 8th notes with a pick on the same note lol... Especially consdiering hes been doing it almost every night for like 15 years and to your point his basslines are really simple, thats kinda crazy lol. @@scotthanlon4918
Dude looked better as a vamp in his girlfriend’s makeup and clothes, and I cannot believe I’m saying it.
The Clown 😅🎉
That’s crazy I still have his fender and he’s pretending like he’s been playing music man all his life 🤣🤣
Think about this for a second
When he was young and selling lots of records he signed to fender and I know there was money in it because they all came to fender eventually.
Today he doesn’t have anybody to answer to but himself his band isn’t in a label etc
Looks like when this happens bands feel very free
And this is the bass he chose after that experience
saying he’s the best bassist ever just to make people angry ☺️🫶
Imma add he’s Aldo the HOTTEST bass player to tick people off aswell
