Awesome to see more people share their work in VR! You should look into axis locking for your initial block out. It's saved me loads of time messing with hard surface sculpts. Keep it up!

Awesome job! Shame this software is Oculus only, but I've definitely got to try this with ReVive.

Thank you! I think Adobe just released a new software after they acquired Medium from oculus, it's called Adobe substance modeler, check it out, it might work on the Vive th-cam.com/video/EYxSXnG2siY/w-d-xo.html

I think the stamp options in Medium are an amazing modeling method that allows you to quickly get an idea out. Why this idea isn’t standard for modeling apps is beyond me.

Oh yes, I would love to have something similar in ZBrush, I think the only 3d software that has something similar in 3d coat but I can't find the video.

Are you still using VR sculpting? Seems like blocking out in this software then taking it into zbrush for detailing and polishing could be a very effective workflow for hardsurface designs. Not sure how much work it is to make the mesh usable in Zbrush though, does zremesher do a good job of it?

I wanted to, I tried, I did a couple of sculpts and it's an amazing tool for sculpting, but where the technology was back them I had 3 cables going from the headset, satlites trackers in the room, it became too cumbersome, when I moved to a new studio I didn't want to go into the hassle into setting it up, and now I finally did set it back up and I want to do another project to see if I can call it quits or maybe not. As fr the mesh that you get out of Medium, It's pretty clean and if you work with layers and you make sure to split them keeping in mind that you need to zeremesh, the workflow is not bad at all. If you are a concept artist and you want to create, spaceships, robots and machinery, it's a great tool because everything feels more fluid than working in ZBrush.

Thanks for showing your technique! I just started with this software yesterday! I noticed when you move stuff you hide what you don’t want to move, isn’t there some kind of ghost option so you can see where you want to align stuff?

I hope you found it helpful! That's a good question, as far as I know, there isn't an option to show the parts on other layers as ghosts, that would be a great feature to have. I use that in ZBrush on every project, especially if I am making parts that need to intersect with each other for 3d printing. I'll do some digging and see if Medium has anything similar.
