Jesus wept. The shortest verse in the Bible... what does it mean?

When Lazarus dies it seems like Jesus is weeping for the loss of His friend. But when you look at the context in the previous verses, you find that Jesus is actually crying because of the pain and grief of Mary and Martha and the other mourners. In doing so, He shows His true humanity and that He is a different kind of deity. God enters into our pain and is there for us to lean on. The tears of Jesus are an invitation to us to believe in Him and His life on earth as well as His power in Heaven.
