I actually own only two Seikos and several Citizens. For some reason, I gravitate more toward Citizen. But you’re correct-both are great brands, and you wouldn’t be disappointed.
I have had both over my life and I still have both. Honestly the Citizen watches are better value! I had a Seiko Kinetic back in the 1990s. It was a beautiful watch. But the thin gold platting wore off in a few years and it became ugly. Cheap! Should have just been stainless!

I had a citizen that was the same value as a Seiko.
The citizen was so bad I ended up giving it away.
Looked good but not he quality wasn't there.

citizen has a bad habit of being too large.
They both have crapy bracelets, where as micro brands put Tfit in the fly adjustment on their watches.
