    Where can I get one of those tools you use to unscrew that specialty screw on the scissors?

      It is called "Universal Hair Scissor shears adjust Tightening Tension UFO screw Tool / Key" You can google it and see where you can find it closer to you.

    Thank you for this video. I was really wondering about the "angles" of the scissors when you sharpen. You didn't tell us anything about those. Do you sharpen at the same angle the bevel is on already? What angle do you sharpen the other end? I'm afraid I will lose the natural bevel and then have blunt scissors. I wish you could have shown us the angles and told us the purpose when you sharpen. I know you were trying to get the knicks out but besides that, what are we aiming for when sharpening? A sharp edge? Thank you.

    Nice video, the same way that I just did mine. From the videos that I saw they say not to us a sharpening stone, why doesn't make sense but the machine is quicker. With the tips not coming together the person replace the bumper and then used a tool and bent the upper handle upward just a bit. I was also told not to sand the inside.or the back of the scissors. Have you ever heard that? Thanks again.

    Hello, would you suggest me to polish the scissors also on a 8000 grit stone to get a better result? I achieved a good result also on a 3000 grit stone anyway

    • @DanielWorkshop
      @DanielWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What I sow is that the higher the polish the greater the chanche for the scissors to push the hair. So my answer wold be no.

      @@DanielWorkshop is this about polishing the rideline or polishing the edge that makes the scissors pushing hair?

    • @DanielWorkshop
      @DanielWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brian5651 Both but polishing the rideline makes the scissor closing and opening smoother. I tend not to polish to much the edge. But depends also on the type of scissors. You need to experiment and find your recipe.

  • @robertturner2876

    You should always start with a lower grit and work your way up to a higher grit. It actually saves you time when you have nicks or pits in the metal.

      Whetstone. "Though "whetstone" is often mistaken as a reference to the water sometimes used to lubricate such stones, the term is based on the word "whet", which means to sharpen a blade, not on the word "wet." The verb nowadays to describe the process of using a sharpening stone for a knife is simply to sharpen, but the older term to whet is still sometimes used, though so rare in this sense that it is no longer mentioned in, for example, the Oxford Living Dictionaries." Stay Sharp!
