    Her graphic novel, Persepolis, and the film she made of it really are invaluable works of art and history telling. I hope the full interview includes pics/pages from the novel and excerpts from the film.

      although the graphic quality of her novels are good, her opinions are biased trash and let me tell you why: Marjane Satrapi is a Qajar offspring whos parents resented the Pahlavi dynasty because the Pahlavi kings redistributed the land that the Qajars stole from people, back to the people. This woman is a typical child of those ill intentioned Iranian 'revolutionaries' converted to socialism and communisms to cover their real intentions, which was rooted in deep jealousy and resentment for the Pahlavi kings.
      Anyone interested in the Qajar dynasty's catastrophic rule over Iran should look into the consequences of Turkmanchay treaty and how Qajar kings (Marjane Satrapi's great grand father and great uncles) were paid salary from the British crown and lost Iranian territories in the Caucasus and Central Asia in exchange for villas in the French Riviera 🥴... Yeah no, she already fooled us with her 'Persepolis" cartoon, we don't want another delusional fake aristocrat descendants of degenerates who destroyed Iran to give us their two cents.

      Her ability to learn language is incredible it’s kinda hard to tell how much time goes by in Persepolis but if her account is true she went from not being able to understand her roommate to having full conversations with her in German within less than a year

    • @garthst.claire3459
      @garthst.claire3459 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@cybertoad5641 if you have to, and want to, you can learn a language incredibly quickly. According to Persepolis at least she didn't have any other Iranian friends around in Vienna whom she could have spoken Farsi with, so she was pretty much forced to learn German to be able to talk to anybody outside her school.
      It's a lack of motivation and confidence that holds most people back from learning a language.

    Satrapi is the archetypal leftist. She and her family would confortably criticize the Sha regime without major repurcursions as they were middle class, to then being forced to cower under the veil of religious zealots. Now she continues being a leftist by just critizing religion as a whole.
    So, she's always in the right, without loosing face, while continue being the eternal victim- in other words- I wont call her a hypocrite, so I'll call her the archetypal leftis!
