UNDERTALE YELLOW - Failing the pacifist route by killing Guardener (and other robots)

- It should be noted that the robots and guardener don't give EXP when killed. It's also of note that Ceroba doesn't get "mad" after you kill guardener. She just laments that there must've been another way, and suggests you keep going on.

I like how Clover turns around to face where Ceroba left when Flowey tells them that they were being used.
but he... he turned to face flowey
They faced flowey when he appeared but when flowey says there were being used they look at the direction Ceroba left in then turned to face flowey again.
@@rapidstang47 oh im dum thank you
Self Defense, Clover.
Perfectly Justified.
Flowey: She was totally using you bud!
Lmao he’s not wrong.
Yeah now he can use clover
"Just you and me."
"Just us."
"Just us."
"Justice!"
Huh, I wouldve thought killing the robots that give 0 xp wouldnt matter but it makes sense that it still messes up the pacifist route because youre not supposed to kill at all
i thought the same thing. i suppose you could still say youre pure, but ceroba doesnt know that
The reason is because LV AND EXP are not the same or connected.
LV is your capacity to hurt destroying even a single robot increases it.
EXP is the pain inflicted onto others and that is why you get no EXP from then *robots cant feel pain so they cant give you EXP but can give you LV because your capacity to hurt others by "hurting" these robots increases by the sheer fact were capable of harming it enough in the first place*
@@randomguy6415 that is big untrue.
the biggest untrue
@@dracibatic2433 nope here is the sans dialogue about EXP:
What's EXP?
It's an acronym.
It stands for *execution points*
A way of quantifying the pain you have inflicted into others.
When you kill someone, your EXP increases.
When you have enough EXP, your LOVE increases.
Exp requires the pain of the enemy to obtain it.
LOVE:
LOVE is too an acronym.
It stands for *level of violence*
A way of measuring someone's capacity to hurt
The more you kill, the easier it becomes to distance yourself
The more you distance yourself, the less will hurt
The more easily you can bring yourself to hurt others
*LOVE is your capacity to hurt and earning EXP means nothing for it as LOVE increases because you are getting into a state of mind were you are losing yourself and distancing yourself from others making you able to hurt others much easier and survive attacks at all costs because obtaining EXP is not required for it*
@@randomguy6415 yes but like... getting xp (usually) gets you lv and also youre lvl 1 in this video

oh god youre right

what if you kill all the monsters except robots (not Axis)
you get failed genocide. i think axis gets tired during the fight and you just shoot him
@@dracibatic2433 You can constantly spare him, after which he will throw away his shield and you can either kill him or spare him. I don't know how many levels it will give in this case because I chose to spare him.
Ok but this is bs. why is my soul not pure anymore if i shot a piece of metal? By that logic even after i hit the dummy in the wild east Clover should lose its purity. You get xp after you kill something with a soul, so what's the difference in hitting a wall or a robot with a gun? they are both soulles and could be repaired.
My only guess is that Ceroba doesn't know this and THINKS you got lv when actually you didn't, but it doesn't look like a good explanation either cause normally she can read your exp and lv, so she should know we are still lv1 0 exp.
Also there is no way that hitting actual monsters until they are 1 hp and then fleeing is still considered "pure" but destroying a robot that is attacking me isn't.
So yeah. I consider this alongside the plotholes that don't make any sense.
because the dummy cant say "i love you" and "dont kill me im a cool robot guy"
@@dracibatic2433 wow, i could literally build a bot made to say these lines, and lose my purity destroying it.... yeah not much better
@@theterron7857 you dont like tellyviz? :(
I think the willingness to attack and kill something that appears alive is enough to prove you aren't pure of heart
@@doublezerob Still wouldnt make sense, i can do a full pacifist by hitting every Monster until they're 1 hp, spare them last moment and my soul is completely pure. Hitting almost to death 50 monsters is way worse than making a machine stop working.
What happens if you genocide only the robots/guardner while Ceroba is with you? Does she have any further comment on your growing negative aura besides the one after Axis when she leaves?
i doubt it but good question
@@dracibatic2433 I was fighting battles in each of the encounter rooms with her in the party for an hour and nothing happened sadly (no "but nobody came" message or music change) :(
Would've been really interesting to see how she'd react to you going out of your way to kill them all though, especially being at lvl 1 before
@@Gyrokun thank you for testing the thing
This is because they wanted to keep the structure of undertale
If you kill a Enemy, you're no longer on the pacifist route.
But Enemies in the steamworks are robots. They're not alive so they give no EXP Which makes sense
But It does not make sense for the game to not put you on the pacifist route Because you gained no EXP.
I don't think they thought that far.
Exp is a measurement of the pain you’ve inflicted on others, the game doesn’t see you as inflicting pain on robots and they’re considered not alive, but ceroba considers them alive enough to assume you’re no longer pure of heart, the judgement of the game and characters are pretty separate
@@MasterIsabelle oh that makes sense
