- Sharks help maintain the health of ocean ecosystems, including seagrass beds and coral reefs. A healthy ocean undoubtedly depends on sharks, so we partnered with Project AWARE to help spread the word. Together we brought awareness to this amazing cause, sold bracelets that helped fund Project AWARE and came together to help save the one of the ocean's coolest species. Thank you for supporting 4ocean and Project AWARE.

Save the Ocean
i have been following for a while now, and what you do is AMAZING...I live in Pensacola Florida. I have been here 50 plus years, and i see whats happening first hand to our waters. Pollution is of course a HUGE problem. But over fishing is Equally bad as far as I am concerned. One thing i have never understood about people who make a living fishing they feed, cloth, and school their families... And they, (not ALL) are always saying that fishing caps hurt their livelihood... Why don't they do something to insure their OWN business??? For instance, why don't the raise frys to return to the water to insure future catches??? There are island people who do it, with little or no real resources... they go out and get the eggs, and raise and protect them until they're old enough and return them to the wild!... Why wouldn't our advanced technologies make it where fisherman in the states could do the same? It would be to their OWN benefit. And in return would help them in their future AND give nature a bit of a break?
People around where i live have seen a HUGE increase in sharks of several species, INCLUDING great Hammerheads coming VERY close to shore and with much more frequency than we've ever seen...I say its because they're looking for food. Plain and simple less fish = desperate fishing practices. And we have not only a yearly Black tip migration that brings through THOUSANDS of Black tips, but an EXTREMELY large Bull shark population. not to mention during that migration we actually see Great hammerhead and other hammerhead species Predations (sp?) on the Black tips while they're here. Lack of regular prey fish means they're coming to places they usually arent seen. And coming in closer to shore than they ever would! Just last week there was a 13ft. Hammerhead hunting less than 3 ft from shore! the picture was actually in our news! and i believe this completely. ..
But i haven't heard of any plans to raise baby fish that are caught for public consumption being help to replace their numbers...And if somewhere they ARE doing it, i would love to hear about it. Of course these are all my opinions that are made due to what i have observed personally.
I am trying to get everyone i know involved to this cause, and a Truly wish there were more people trying to help. What you are doing is Admirable and i think you are all Such incredible people, and i wish all the best!💜💜💜🦈🦈🦈
