Nice video, helped understand what I was getting into ahead of time. Definitely agree with others to buy the one with the new hose, so that you can tear/cut the old one off; otherwise you'll spend two hours just trying to take it off. Bought my OEM part on Amazon for $20 bucks. The whole thing took me about an hour to complete. Definitely tight spaces, but workable. This took care of my P0441 error, and eliminated the gas smell I had coming in after putting gas. More importantly my problem with my Santa Fe having a hard start went away. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much for this video! The explanation was very clear and detailed, and it really helped me replace the canister valve without any issues. Excellent work, and thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Just did the purge valve , definitely by the one with the top hose, take the whole air cleaner off and out of the way, disconnect the bottom hose, electric connector, move the top clamp down and just tear the old hose off, and thats it, I laid across the top of the motor so I could see..much easier, I'm 61yo and it was 45 minutes at best
Great job watched the video the other day. Bought the part on amazon. Came today. Went back to this video and you did it perfect. Thank you for taking the time to show us . Job took me 30 mins instead of 2 hours trying to get that damn sensor off haha thanks again man .
Had a smoke test on they told me that it was my fuel filler neck so I had the fuel filler neck replaced now I'm getting a p0441 that I wasn't getting before
I have a 2010 hyundai santa fe getting engine stalls or complete random shutoff issues, I will try this out, just ordered my purge valve on amazon I'll update
I'm not sure the purge valve is the issue. It just vents gas fumes into the intake. It should just cause rough idle at most. But it's a cheap fix. Check gas cap as well. That triggers the same code if I remember correctly
If you changed the fuel level sensors you used the sensor gaskets. Buy the original or reuse old ones. They sending unit gaskets are thinner that original! Causing vapor leak!
So I have a 2002 hyundai santa fe 2.7 liter and it has a rough idle and it randomly shut off on me it has a p0455 code any suggestions on what to check first ?
It could be a manifestation of a few things. If the fuel and air mixture isn't right or if the spark isn't right, then you could see that. Maybe check simple things like air and fuel filter and then the fuel pump. It's one or more of the 3.
Great vid! Allow me to add to this. Rather than trying to pull the hose off the manifold nipple, I slid the clamp down and with a serraded knife just cut the hose off the nipple. Way easier!! However this revelation came after I busted my hand up trying to slide the hose off. Lol
@stem_saving1644 I cleared it, the gas cap looks good. I have a new fuel pressure sensor on the way. Turns out mine is snaped at the neck. Hopefully that fixes it.

@Dillon Adrien flixportal :P

Nice. Always trying to show how you can save money by doing things yourself. Glad it helped you.
Good video. Helped me change mine. 30 mins. Thanks
Good work thanks tomorrow I'm going to change my Hyundai Elantra same code 441
Glad to help
I think this might have been a pain in the ass. Thanks for the video
butt real simple.
Take a shot every time he says pain in the ass.
Bro thank you so much! This was my exact issue, your video saved me $$, MUCH appreciated!
Your welcome. Consider subscribing, I'll be doing more work soon
I got a P0456 small Evap leak. I checked the gas cap already and it’s good. Can this be a possible fix??
It could, it's a cheap fix.
This video helped me out a lot! Thanks!
Your welcome please like and consider subscribing to the channel.
Very very helpful. Thank you for sharing this.
Hopefully it will save you some cash if you do it.
After you replaced it and reset engine light, how long did you drive the car, before knowing that the engine light is truly not coming back on?
Never came back on since it was reset. If it does, it could also be the gas cap or another leak.
I HAVE A QUESTION? AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE SMELL LIKE GAS OR THERE'S WASN'T NO ODOR AND IF THE CODE P420 WAS PRESENT? THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
No odor, just check engine light.
I had this issue for a while without fixing it. and now the car doesnt start at all. Will a valve replacement still worK?
Probably not. You have other issues going on
@stem_saving1644 Thank you good sir
What happens if you don't replace it
Check engine light stays on, and most places will fail it for emissions/safety inspections.
Does the arrow go down or up towards the intake
Not sure what arrow you're referring to?
I just left auto zone and I have a small leak, what do I do next ? 😭 I just bought the car last week
If it's the code in the video you can try replacing or tightening the gas cap or replacing the device in the video.
Is it good that Foseal? Can it read and set something? Or just read and thats all? Santa 2006 2,7 139kw. Thank you.
You can read codes and reset them using torque lite
@@stem_saving1644 can you read all codes or just basic codes? Thank you
@Fastarrow12322 not sure what you mean. If there is a fault code, you can read it.
Had a smoke test on they told me that it was my fuel filler neck so I had the fuel filler neck replaced now I'm getting a p0441 that I wasn't getting before
Not sure what your situation is, but if its that P0441 error its either the gas cap or the purge valve at least based on what I have seen
The arrow should point up on the valve right
I'm assuming the arrow indicates flow path, so yes.
Is this the 3.3 or 2.7?
It's the 2.7L
I have a 2010 hyundai santa fe getting engine stalls or complete random shutoff issues, I will try this out, just ordered my purge valve on amazon I'll update
I'm not sure the purge valve is the issue. It just vents gas fumes into the intake. It should just cause rough idle at most. But it's a cheap fix. Check gas cap as well. That triggers the same code if I remember correctly
Perfect thank you
It is the pcv valve?
No, that's for the crank case
If you changed the fuel level sensors you used the sensor gaskets. Buy the original or reuse old ones. They sending unit gaskets are thinner that original! Causing vapor leak!
mind turn out to be a vacum leak from the brake booster hose,
Hopefully you could fix it for cheap?
So I have a 2002 hyundai santa fe 2.7 liter and it has a rough idle and it randomly shut off on me it has a p0455 code any suggestions on what to check first ?
Gas cap is the easiest, it can throw that code as well. If replacement doesn't help look at the evap. Valve, like the one I replaced.
@@stem_saving1644 but the gas cap can cause it to stall out at a stop light?
It could be a manifestation of a few things. If the fuel and air mixture isn't right or if the spark isn't right, then you could see that. Maybe check simple things like air and fuel filter and then the fuel pump. It's one or more of the 3.
Thanks dude. Great video
Thanks, consider subscribing I'll have more videos as I have more stuff coming up to fix.

Yup. You learn a lot by doing it.
What size engine is this
2.7l
@@stem_saving1644 ok thanks
Is 3.3 same thanks
Pretty sure it is
Took me 30 minutes. 29 of them were spent fighting with those damn connections
Yup, it's those are the worst. Not rocket science....just need some patience.
@stem_saving1644 yeah what sucks is the code came back afterwards.
@justinkaufman495. Did you clear it? Might be gas cap as well.
@stem_saving1644 I cleared it, the gas cap looks good. I have a new fuel pressure sensor on the way. Turns out mine is snaped at the neck. Hopefully that fixes it.
Great job!!
At least we saved her 400 there
Hahaha pain in the ass! Had me laughing, thank you so much for this video helped me when my valve went out

Don't worry it may be a pain in the ass but it's easy to do....
Thanks
clean the throtle body
Didn't do anything. It was in the valve.
