    I seriously love you!!!!!! You cover surprisingly common issues that no one else covers!!!!! You have helped me with so many issues on my bike, and saved me so many headaches. Also, you aren’t monotone “clear eyes for dry eyes” like the park tool guys.
    They put me to sleep.
    Still, I love Park Tools.

    Thx man! At first your fix was not working but i made a second try and did it a bit different. Loosend the srew, positioned the lockout to the maximum and tightend the screw/ cable again. Now it was on maximum lockout and on release it jumps back to open. Works like a charm!

      This is the correct way to do it, not like in the video.

    Awesome! Just what I needed to fix mine.
    When I went to make the adjustment, I noticed 2 dots on my fork(fox 34 performance). 1 tells you were to position the set screw, and the other is where the set screw will end up one locked out. Fox obviously forgot to mention this to our bike builders...
    Also, if you use a L-shaped allen key to hold the 5mm cap in position, 3 hands are not needed.
    Thanks for this video. I hope my tips help.

    Had the same issue twice with my brand new bike... Two FOX services, and 7 weeks of waiting, the problem happened a third time about 2 days after picked it up from the LBS where it already felt "mushy" when I received it - Like a disc brake that wasn't properly bled I was able to push it down like 2/3 of its supposed 110mm travel range but actually only measuring at ~95mm.
    INCREDIBLY annoyed I was about to throw the thing against the wall when I came to my senses deciding to give it another try by removing all the air and having the fork fully bottom out because of this. I then pumped about half the required PSI into it, gave it some very slow pushes followed by the remaining half and another set of slow pushes.
    Ignore the loss of pressure and refilling of the left air side! What probably helped to fix the issue ( maybe just temporarily, who knows ) was most likely the bottoming out of the right oil side multiple times while it's being slowly extended into working condition - Something the nutjobs at the LBS must have totally neglected doing - Circulating the oil?
    Since then the Lockout worked like a champ as if you tried to punch a wall and the travel range actually went up to the expected 110mm.

    This made me thinking about toggling with the barrel adjustment.. but i was so sure the cable tension was good. It had VERY LITTLE slack but one click on the adjustment made all the difference between lockout and normal shock feel… crazy. Thanks for this vid!

    THANK YOU. My new canyon Lux wasn't locking out and this was so simple to fix. It has a grip system, not fit4 but its really the same, the nut for the cable is just on the side not the top. Would be good to note that this is done under lockout position. Either way, THANK YOU a million times, saves me a potential send back or part wait or lengthy customer service conversation :D

  • @jim_morrison4583
    @jim_morrison4583 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Why you don't push the lockout button first and then you turn the middle screw to the "locked" position and then fix the cable with the small screw? Then you should have the locked position in the right position when you push the lockout. But the problem is (I guess) that the fork itself has 3 poditions and the button only two...

    My question is, can I get rid of the remote lockout all together and convert my fork back to normal? I'd rather just lock my front shock by turning the knob on the fork itself. Right now, that lever on my handle bars is doing nothing but being in my way. I'd rather have a dropper post lever there.

    The "lockout mode" that you are showing in the end is not correct, that means, you did not repair your fork :) I have the same bike with the same fox float 32 step cast performance model. When you lock it it is COMPLETELY firm, you can not even push it in. That's the point of "Lockout" ;) And if you google this problem more thoroughly you will see that this remote lever as well as topcap assembly on the fork have more serious issues that cable tension.

    • @jm-btt
      @jm-btt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you. The lockout is complete in my Fox fork also (if tuned correctly, which is difficult).
      The topcap has serious issues with dust and water, Fox should FIX this, but they are trying since 2016....with no success !
