Sugar was an American alternative rock band active in the early 1990s. Formed in 1992, they were led by the singer and guitarist Bob Mould (ex-Hüsker Dü), Years active : 1992-1995
The loudest show I ever heard was Sugar playing First Ave. Probably took a year off my life and ten years off my sense of hearing. My guts and internal organs resonated and vibrated. It was incredibly intense. It was almost uncomfortable - the volume was overwhelming. The whole space reverberated. Bob Mould is an incredibly interesting person-you may want to check his solo stuff, or, my favorite, Husker Du, his first band. The whole album, Copper Blue, remains a top favorite. I knew him a bit in real life - an extraordinarily interesting and engaging cat. A good dude.
Bob Mould is my absolutely favorite artist . I’ve probably seen him perform well over 30 times since 1989 as Bob Mould Band, Sugar, or solo ….. never disappoints
If I heard this without seeing or paying attention to the lyrics I would definitely think it was a happy themed song. I love it. Regardless of whether they were trying to be ironic, it’s fun to speculate. 😂🌺✌️
Great song. Now react to "gee Angel", "can't help you anymore", your favorite thing, karma Canyon and Bob mould when he was in Husker Du . listen to it's not funny anymore and Diana
Yeah as other people have said Bob was guitarist/ co lead singer/ co songwriter for Husker Du. An all time great band . I sang this, his solo song See a Little Light and The Husker songThese Important Years (All Bob) to my son the night he was born. One thing about this song that is incredibly important, is that around this time he was involuntary outed as a gay man. ( yes there was a time where some music “ journalists “ thought it was their place and job to do this. The fact the song succeeded was an important part of accepting gays into rock not just techno

Bob Mould is always great live! Try Sugar live Explode And Make Up. It’s what got me into Sugar, Bob Mould and Husker Du.

I haven't replied in a while. I'm back to suggest ELO's "Prologue + Twilight" again. Really, it's an epic piece of music.
If Bob Mould ever starts a cult, I'll gladly join with a full open heart.
