They tried to explain why Koutei gave the critical to Daidragon but I still think it was a dumb move. There’s never any reason to not get a free damage in.
Still bugs me that he would'e won if he gave the crit and force marker to Daidragon, and swung with him first instead of Great Daiyusha. A lot of Koutei's losses are a result of misplays, or not committing when needed. He's gotta believe in justice :')
I get Koutei strategy but I would risked giving my Vanguard that crit instead of giving it to the Rear Guard. That would probably have been a better choice since your going against Kagero.
Kai would've gotten a heal trigger, thus healing one damage and giving his VG power, thus less cards he would need to guard. Koutei did a gamble and it had paid off.

If you look closely there were actually 3 crits stacked up. 2 were used by overlord as an offensive and the 3rd one as a defensive. Koutei would have been dead before he can even pull his combo for you to see for yourself the deck was stacked up this way: heal>overlord>crit>crit>crit>nehalem>crit use heal trigger as a damage check draw overlord attack with overlord (2crits) restand overlord, attack again and get extra crit Kai really just got lucky

@@albe0788 overlord has 33k power. Koutei guarded with 25k shield, bumping daiyusha to 38k. Intercepting with only one is pointless, it will still take only one trigger to pass. Intercept with 2 and he won't have enough to fend off the other attacks
what? he uses kagero, in season 1 then narukami in season 2/3 then LJ and kagero in season 3, plays royals and kagero in season 4. this is a reboot which follows the manga more closely, so yes kai uses kagero and not LJ

But since Kai didn't have a pg he is forced to guard with a 25k shield which is 2 less cards. Tldr: he puts the crit to daidragon to bait a perfect guard (if there is any) and reducing the chance of a damage trigger also reducing counterblast just like what Kai said

Im guessing he intends to draw a trigger and give it to daidragon for massive power boost, but the force marker part.... Is debatable
But bushiroad intended for kai to win since hes one of the main more significant chars than koutei
The misplay is also intentional bc bushiroad wants to make kai win.
