First build of the season! The "splash pad" makes the Whale Tail easier AND harder

- The Whale Tail is one of the most iconic features on Berm Peak, and now we're going to add a "splash pad" to it. This is basically a lily pad feature off to the left that you can opt to ride in between the lip and landing. On the one hand, the Splash Pad makes the Whale Tail easier to traverse, but on the other hand you need to jump over the entire structure in order to clear it normally!

Food for thought: if the splash pad is meant to provide a “safer” option to the whale tail jump, I’m worried that the angle would make it very sketchy if the wood got the slightest bit wet. What if you added grip tape to the splash pad to make sure that bikes would never slip on that angle? Or maybe I’m missing the fact that a “safer” option at berm peak is never “truly safe”, just simply relative to the latter haha😂
A wolf spider stays on the ground which is also brown and covered with leaves... You're not making this easy.

Hey Seth, I think a lot of folks would be interested in a 'Berm Peak' Walkthrough with your thoughts today on the trails and features. I feel like it's been a while since we've seen some of your builds and a berm peak overview would be a nice way to come back to that. Also, why did knob deep just disappear? What was wrong with the trail that caused it to not get any more development?
After all those build videos I feel kinda lost when he builds new feature, this is really good video idea

I just want to remind everyone that Seth started with a sketchy rickety drop in at his back yard, broke his collar bone, then bought more property, to make more (well built and pretty impressive) sketchy features, and now he's going back and remastering them making them safer. What a journey.
I seem to remember a goofball in Florida doing silly stuff before that drop!

Killer build! Always love option lines
It's a great addition. Now to clear the whole thing, I noticed that you nose dive more to keep the back wheel up. Also I can see that when the splash pad gets wet or a coating of slime on it from weather exposure, it could get slippery and cause major traction problems when slow rolling it. Might consider some stair grip strips or something.

Seth... I like the splash pad... makes an interesting variation. Also a good safety... If you realise you do not have enough speed as you hit the whale tail, you can always use the splash pad instead of casing on the landing.
