Was using my Super A today. Ran it for about an hour, unhooked my cut harrow and hopped up on the tractor to pull away and was going to put it away for the day. Depressed the clutch and heard a grinding noise and the clutch had no pressure. Luckily the tractor was in neutral. Had to have my son pull me back up to the house with our 4 wheeler. Any ideas. Throw out bearing? What do you think?
Inserted a link above showing the old style graphite bearing and carrier (part number 11 surrounded by a box). It is replaced by parts 11A, 11B, and 11C. Link is placed in video description above.
how about the brakes? something broke on my ....left brake and it doesnt work anymore the pedal just falls down, id really like to get it going again one day, the chargin system doesnt work either..
If the pedal falls either the connector link is broken from the brake pad rod to the linkage on the end of the left brake pedal shaft (the part I replaced) or the rod that connects to the brake pad broke inside the final drive. The brake pad is connected to a rod and the pad wraps around a drum inside the final drive. If you look at the right brake pedal and push it down you can see the linkage pulling on the rod that sticks out of the final drive real easy. Replacing a brake pad on a farmall is a tough job since you have to remove one side of the final drive from the tractor. Here is a link to a diagram so you can get the idea of how the brakes work: partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr54057ar734350
Not at all. The only difference between the A and Super A is that the super A has a hydraulic system. The clutch is exacly the same between the two. That being said, early A/super A use a graphite throwout bearing embedded in a different carrier than later models which used a different carrier and traditional bearing with balls inside. If you have the old style graphite bearing and release carrier you will have to upgrade both to the newer style since there are no replacement parts anymore.
Anyone got any videos on replacing the right rear brakes on Farmall A? Looks like you have to pull the entire final drive assembly to get to the brakes.

Can't get the clutch to release ( new cl.)
I didn't have to do any of that to put a new clutch in my Belarus 250AS when I split it.
