One thing missing from this video is the one hit two-hit mechanism of oncogenes and ts genes. We have two copies of all genes, for cancer/neoplasia to occur through oncogenes only one of two gene copies need activating mutations whereas both copies of the tumor suppressor gene to inactivate/mutate before neoplasia can occur.
ALSO,,, how can the transcription factor m-myc which plays aN important role
in iPSC also become an oncogene? (5:20)

Debabrata Laik he is right because tumor suppressor gene if one become mutant so second gene from maternal or paternal works and that is able for control cell cycle so both genes of tumor suppressor should become mutant for a cell to become neoplastic
@@edthoreum7625 This is one year late, but I'll still answer. Myc is a proto-oncogene, meaning that a normal Myc will not cause cancer. Only when Myc is mutated so it is abnormally overexpressed will it be an onogene and cause cancer. A normal Myc, like in the iPS cells are important for the reasons mentioned in the video (growt & survival). In fact Myc is very important during development and cannot be knocked down or removed, because of its regulatory mechanisms of growth and survival. We wouldn't have genes that causes cancer, if it wouldn't be necessary.
