  • Reset your Moog DFAM’s sequencer! The Sonoclast RFD is a 3hp eurorack module that provides a reset trigger input and reset button for the sequencer of a Moog DFAM.

You are my hero. The DFAM is an amazing drum synth and this lack of reset limits it so much.

This is great! I have sort of gotten used to a lack of reset as an almost random chance type of thing, intentionally throwing my sequence out of whack. But this addition is most welcome to DFAM users I'm sure!

How does this work??? I want one now. You’ve made the most important add on for this machine.

I think this works by quickly pulsing the ADV CLOCK input with the number of steps to skip over.

How about utilising a SLOWER sequence so we can actually see what you are attempting to show us ???💡

Cool. Can the RFAM output be multed to control two DFAMs? Can you explain how this is working? Will it work at any tempo?

Hey, there's only one DFAM here, but the following signal path works just the same as the relatively low tempos shown in the video: Sweeping the whole range by hand of a 0-coast audio rate square wave > driving the clock of Metropolis > triggering clock and reset of RFD > output to Doepfer A180-3 buffered mult > buffered output to DFAM. The DFAM stays in sync as the Metopolis sequence length changes from 9 to 15. Presumably another DFAM could be driven in sync via the buffered mult.

    How?

could this have been in a 2hp package?

At minimum, 2hp would require a smaller button and chips with smaller footprints. The larger button is a design choice to match the buttons on a DFAM, and using larger footprint chips is a function of the current global semiconductor (lack of) supply situation we are in.
