    I love this torch. I have a seeker 3 pro, warrior x turbo, perrun 2, warrior mini 2 and a couple of others. The little warrior mini 2 is my normal EDC. The larger X3 is my *winter* EDC. With a large parka I can easily EDC the X3 in my pocket and still have the mini 2 in my pants pocket as a backup.
    The big warrior turbo is a monster thrower with a 1km beam, but I use it more for backpack hiking because it wont fit easily in a coat.
    I had the warrior X3 out last winter on 3 mile night walk in a snowy forest and it definitely did the job. The low mode is still very powerful and gives you 8 hours of light.

    I got this light a few days ago. Really cool and with simple UI. Low and high, that's it.
    Low is enough for most tasks and allround use. And the high: WOW! A punchy long range spotlight. By the way: it comes to my mind that the low of this light was top performance around 15 years ago. But with ~2 hours runtime, while this one has 8 hours.
    Warrior X3 definitely is the coolest light in my collection. But I wish high was 1000-1200lm instead of a whopping 2500.
    Now it needs step down to much lower level to avoid overheating. At least it should be possible to choose away the initial spike.
    If you want 900-1200lm(which I read is the constant remaining output depending on the temperature) you every time need to pass the initial 2500lm before it drops to stabilize. This consumes unnecessary much of the runtime. But of course the initial 2500lm level is just a way to compete in the lumen race. Olight knows that 1000-1200lm would not sell as good as 2500lm.
    Apart from that I really like this light. The charging is very simple as well. And the finger ring is a great idea!

    The X 3 strike bezel will get you in less trouble with the D.A. if you use it on a person and the cops get involved-
    its less aggressive and provides a more believable emergency extraction capability with the in-laid zirc beads (if they work anything like porcelain glass breakers) and I bet getting hit in the face with that would still really suck.

      A lot of people don't have a good understanding of how self defense laws are applied in court and they get tactical equipment/accessories with skull logos & aggressive designs and if the use of force laws are restrictive in their area it is reasonable to assume the local D.A. will try to use that to convince a jury that they are vicious people hoping for chances to hurt people.
      One should always know what defense doctrine is applied in their neighborhood and check local D.A.'s office records to see if they have a bias toward prosecuting self-defense cases..... or don't get caught.

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A B, that all depends on your needs. The Warrior 3 is a thrower, but utilizes a TIR optic lens to create a sharp focal point with some throw and wash (outside of hot spot). Also notable with the TIR lens vs. the deep reflector on the Warrior X 3 is the ability to throw farther. It's 300 meters with the Warrior 3 and nearly double for the Warrior X 3 at 560 meters and a more tightly focused beam. Then there's the Candella, which is more or less how efficiently the 2300 and 2500 lumen LED's can be used. you loose a LOT Of candella with the Warrior 3 and TIR lens so it only produces 23,000 Candella where the X 3 is able to use much more of the available lumens and puts out a very impressive 78,000 lumens. So......it boils down to whether you want a light with a nice focused beam, more compact and good at both distance and close use vs. a serious thrower (X 3) that uses the most of the available lumens. I picked the Warrior 3 and the Warrior X Turbo for my pair of throwers (but the Warrior X 3 wasn't released yet or I would have gotten the X 3). Good Luck, and in either case, they're both Awesome Lights! Zip~

    • @ChrispyThings
      @ChrispyThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly what Zippo said!
      It will also depend on your needs for portability and how you’re going to use and carry either light.
      The Warrior 3 is a much better carry if you’re going to pocket the light over the Warrior X 3.
      But if it’s going in a bug out bag, then either will do. Then it all comes down to if you need a thrower or not.

      A B, I’ve got both the warrior 3 and the warrior X 3 and they are both awesome lights, lol, but with that said for day to day use the warrior 3 will probably be better for ya in the sense that it is very versatile and has many modes and it does throw quite a bit too, it punches out to a distance pretty well not quite as well as the warrior X 3 does though mainly because of the candela rating, the warrior 3 has 23,000 Candela where the warrior X 3 has 78,000 Candela, The warrior X 3 is very versatile as well but it is not as versatile as what the warrior 3 is, so if you’re looking for a daily user then I would go with the warrior 3 but if you want something that is going to punch out to a distance like 500 or 600 yards then you would want the warrior X 3, but I will say that the warrior 3 is probably good for about a distance of roughly around 300 yards, the box says that it has 300 meters of throw which would be more than 300 yards but in all honesty I would say 300 yards is about its limit where the warrior X 3 is good for roughly around 600 yards, if you can afford to buy the both of them then I would definitely would recommend it they are awesome, as the old saying goes the more the merrier, lol, but I hope that this will help give you enough information to help you decide, good luck to ya and I would definitely recommend either one of them from my experience they are both awesome lights🤔 lol

    THANK YOU for this review! I was stuck between this (Warrior X3) and the more complicated Warrior 3S for a medium range eliminator for my MDRX. This helped me go with the simpler X3... THANKS!
    Oh, as for the glow thing... one thing I do for ALL lights (at least since I switched to LED's) is to get a Butler Creek scope cap to put on the end when not in use. First, it hides bezel reflections (how many times I've seen those in IR during training). Second, it prevents accidental discharges. Third, it will prevent that uncalled for glow from giving your position away in a tactical situation as you noted around the 14:00 mark.
    Great vid, glad I came across it while researching this light.

    Hi Chris, hi guys! I fell in love with flashlights recently. I live in France: there are very few means of defense that are both legal and effective in the event of an attack in an urban area. Flashlights are therefore an excellent option for getting out of risky situations.
    I need an advice. Olight, with its aggressive marketing strategy, is a brand that has become essential: it cannot be ignored. But we can say what we want to say this point, Olight designs good products, in my opinion. I have three: my first and favorite flashlight that replaced my "Stiletto" pocket knife for going out in town, the Warrior 3. Perfect to hold, perfect to carry and draw, two switches, a Turbo mode as well as a a strobe quickly accessible in case of stress and a crenellated head which will never replace a blade but which has the advantage of being legal !
    The other two, I bought them because there were good discounts on the prices offered: an Olight Baton 3 (ideal for staying at home. Like the Warrior 3, I classify it as an "S" rank) and the Olight Warrior X 3 (no useless option, it's an advantage. But no strobe and a little more technical to draw, I find. It's a very good flashlight but less useful for the use I have of it and for my level: rank "A").
    I watch French-speaking TH-cam channels a lot ("Le Goût des Lampes", the most original, but the partnership with Olight spoils the negative opinions when there is something to say). "Chrispy Things" is my favorite English channel: it goes straight to the point, it exposes the pros and cons. That's cool and I encourage you to continue like that. I regret not having known of its existence earlier 😅
    Coming to my question, I don't want to replace my Warrior 3. I find it excellent. But there are other brands besides Olight that seem to make great products too! Hence this need for "lighting" of connoisseurs and professionals working in security: the Nitecore P20iX and the Fenix TK16 V2.0 often come up in the comments under the videos.
    For those who own these self-defense oriented tactical flashlights, are you satisfied with them? Do you have preferences for other models? Not necessarily at Olight, Nitecore or Fenix: anywhere else 🙂
    My criteria for my use of a tactical flashlight as a civilian: a head with which you can hit and hurt (the crenellated crowns help on this point), intuitive access to Turbo mode or Strobe mode in emergency situations, a reliable torch even after several drops on asphalt, and a light beam emphasizing width rather than maximum reach.
    Other criteria such as belt clips, "holsters" supplied with flashlights, battery charge indicators, use of a proprietary battery and the way to recharge it (magnetic, external port or obligation to take out the battery to connect the cable), etc., are secondary. They are still important, of course, but I try to target models resembling the Olight Warrior 3.
    The world of flashlights is so vast and interesting, I would really like to discover other horizons, other brands and other models just as well designed as the Warrior 3 (for example, the crown of the Thrunite BSS v4 is excellent for hitting but reduces the light beam: this is a crippling defect in my opinion).
    I copy and paste this request under the three videos thanks to which I have known this great channel: the Olight Warrior 3, the Fenix TK16 v2 and the Nitecore P20iX. Hoping to have some interesting leads from you 😉
    Thanks everyone, and "restez éclairés" 💡😙

      However, I have a slight preference for the Fenix model !

    Warrior X Turbo also has the low battery vibration and glow ring. The glow is SO subtle, I don't think anyone 25 feet away could even see it. It did surprised me when I first powered it on and felt the vibrating. Cool feature but I'd still like to see a side switch with battery indicator and more modes like the Warrior 3. But, The X 3 and Warrior Turbo are both great lights. I lean toward the more cool white...no clue why. Anxious to see the X 3 in Orange so I can add it to the orange collection. I got X3 a few days ago. As I see it: while a wider spill can be an advantage at close range it's often a disadvantage at long range because the spill can dazzle on the foreground(especially against a wall nearby) when you want to see an object far away.
      The deep reflector of this light has the advantage of providing more average lumen per illuminated area than if it had a shallower reflector. And I like that.

But no, I can’t find any pattern or any logical programming at all. Regardless of ½ press to full press or number of presses, it does nothing consistently. I cannot figure out how to turn it on in high or low intentionally. It seems I need to keep pressing the switch til it finally lands where I want it. I do really like the mount and remote pressure switch for mounting it to a rifle and with that remote pressure switch I easily get exactly what I expect from it. Love the holster. Breakig a windshield or the window on the driver's door??? Make a video testing this. I think the process is a lot harder than "enthusiasts" think. Would it smash the head of the light??
    Other bogus features put on lights to help sales? Proximity sensor and lockout (via button presses or auto...eg. Olight Seeker 3 Pro). Don't need them. Many don't have those features. Few lights have "proximity sensor"....and you can manually put any light into lockout with a twist of the body...tail end or head...dependig o light.

      No I haven’t tested this out. Just where would I find a windshield to break for every flashlight that I own that has beads on the bezel? Nope. I use flashlights for the light, not breaking glass.
      If you want that kind of video, you’re not going to find it here.

    I had the previous model and loved it. I got this one and absolutely hate it. They got rid of the button at the top, I guess to save money and the bottom button activation is totally useless. Instruction manual doesn't even show you how to cycle through the Max and low light settings. Trying to figure out how long and how far to press it in to get the correct light settings is troublesome. They sacrificed features and ease of use for pure power output. The engineer that designed this model has no value for user interface. I don't recommend this model at all!

      Update - I finally figured out how to turn on the flashlight in low mode by using only the slightest pressure on the back button. I had to keep playing with it for several minutes. Not very intuitive.

      I got X3 a few days ago, but have no experience of the predecessor.
      The switch is a bit tricky at first and now and then I activated high when I wanted low.
      But after a while I more and more learn how hard to push to get the right mode.

    • @Quality_Guru
      @Quality_Guru ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patricj951 Thahks for the update. You are correct, I have learned how to apply a light pressure to get the lower light setting. It definitely takes practice to master it. I still think that they need to update the switch, so you don’t need to train yourself on the degree of pressure to control the intensity of the light. Other than that it’s a great light.

      I agree. I think they wanted to avoid to getting it too easy to accidently activate the light, so there has to be some resistance. I guess it's not easy to get this perfect. It's easy to push it too hard and get high when I want low and also that I turn on high when I want to turning it off. Still, I have decided not to get this taking away my joy about this light. It's not perfect but still great.

      You know when I reviewed the Warrior X Pro, I mentioned that the lumens were 2250 and had a throw of 600 m.
      Same info on the box.
      Then checking the website last week they have the X Pro listed at 2100 lumens and a throw off 500 m.

      No, it's the reason I Purchased a Nitecore MH25s, and P20i as my new EDCs; after discovering Nitecores quality, I think the Warrior X 3 was my last Olight purchase; actually, if my first Warrior X Pro didn't have such a yellowish beam, I'd probably have never purchased the W,3; I'm not sure if my first one was defective from the start, but it has a much warmer tint than any I've seen reviewed.
      Olights makes some great torches; but when I think of a tactical torch, a strobe is something I feel should be a no-brainer; that said, the Warrior X 3 makes an excellent weapons light.

  • @azilll
    @azilll 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Olight does make a pretty product. Build quality seems nice as well.
    Issues arise when it comes to battery quality, and proprietary battery/charging implementations.
    That satisfaction of the sweet beam ends abruptly when darkness wins by submission.
