That is exactualy what I needed to hear! Do you have a recipe at all? We don't do chemical and are always looking for new natural that works. We use lemon grass oil which helps some but not a solution to all problems. If you had a recipe that would be amazing otherwise I will google that flower and see if I can find any recipes. Thankyou very much!

Also when you shut it off pull the cord out and hold it.will save recoil longer

Thankyou, it does have stihls elasta start cord so it does have a bit of give. I already fixed it. Turns out it was the recoil spring snapped the end off again! I put a new spring in a year ago exactually with a oem stihl one. Not super impressed by that, it was the end that catches against the housing that has almost no stress on it even so I am thinking it was poor manufacturing. But thankyou, it shouldn't grab the recoil tho as it's a dog system on a cam not like the old old 4 stroke briggs and straton that used the 4 or 5 balls that would slam the cord when shutting off.

That's tough with those flies. We have mosquitos, deer flies, and ticks but thankfully not black flies.

We sure were not expecting them that bad. The mosquitos are not bad stay in the sun usualy keeps them away but black flys don't care. Luckily they are only a month or so then the are gone the it's the rest of the bugs untill mid August . I don't know if it's it's weird warm winter that has made them alot worse then most years or what. I don't remember any other spring with them this bad.

Working with clouds of black flies around you constantly is definitely not pleasant. Nor is the aftermath of all those bites.

You are correct! That was not. The chainsaw exhaust helped keep them at bay some what, so I never shut it off as it helped. It was way too hot and dry to have a smokey fire, I couldn't find anything to make shift a smoker that would be safe and not be a forest fire hazard. Beleive it or not that was the less black fly section too lol. We did another part the day before that was alot worse as it's a damp area so we could not stop moving to film. Keeping moving helped. They were only around for a couple weeks which was good, mosquitoes we can deal with but those are maddening.

Lol you are correct it's way to much saw! I own this saw as I have family in the repair buisiness and I got this for FREE as they bought a truck load of "non fixable saws for parts" from a stihl dealer.... this one needed a carb kit.. more specifically the fuel screen in the card was plugged but I rebuilt the carb anyway as it was apart. $8 later and my time. They tend to like to not fix the older saws and just sell new, this is a 20-30 year old saw so they like to sell new if they can. I would have used a liming saw if I had one, maybe I should keep my eyes out for one for future, sure would be lighter! I tend to look for things that need rebuilt or not running and buy cheap and fix my self parts are cheap plus I enjoy doing my own work, I know it's done right and what shape everything is in.
