i prefer the original script before release when infinite had real reality shattering power and not just faking power... and it was an actual genetic engineered clone made by robotnick and not a random bounty hunter... (you can still see the infinite failed cloning attempt in one of the last levels...) Smug Sneasel I don't think what you say is entirely accurate because the first draft was written in Japanese by Eitaro Toyoda and Makoto Goya, translated and revised in English by Pontac and Goya, and then was translated back into Japanese. The original draft is not the one used in the final Japanese release and we don't know how much it deviates.
I know it's a very dumb comparison, but he has something in common with Luigi. Only backwards. Think about it. Luigi is Mario's player 2, and in Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube, Luigi was a coward at the beginning, but eventually conquered his fears, and did the same in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Tails is Sonic's player 2, and in SA he beat Chaos 4. In more recent games, he doesn't do jack shit except for standing there like a coward. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Tails in the older games, but in the most recent games, he hasn't been of much help.
They turned him into Luigi except ten-times as much of a pathetic loser. Luigi was a scaredy cat but grew into a competent hero in his own right throughout the series. Tails _was_ a hero in his own right but regressed into a pathetic coward who relies on Sonic way too much as the series went on. Ironic seeing how his arc in Adventure 1 was about him learning not to depend on Sonic so much and become more independent. In Adventure 2 after Sonic dies (except not really), Tails takes initiative and fights to save the day because he knows it's what Sonic would've wanted. Here, he pisses himself at the sight of Chaos (who he already defeated before) and cries out for (a supposedly dead) Sonic to save him. What.

So apparently “Tails lost it” was just a localization choice, but I like to think it was a writer taking a jab at how Tails lost his spine since Adventure. You know? The thing his entire story mode was about in both games? Honestly at this point the moon feels like the most consistent thing in the Sonic franchise.
This was interesting, but there is TONS to be discussed as well. I think my favorite recent reference is how they saved the wisps from eggman, who wanted to use them for a weapon, then use them in THEIR weaponS.
My favorite level was Iron Fortress. I loved the music and I loved the level design. The auto scrolling just increased the action. As I was playing it, I told myself that that I thought the level was well designed.
If you want to play a good handheld sonic game on the switch play sonic mania, or the gba has the sonic advance trilogy, or the rush trilogy on the ds. Edit: Maybe the giant snake is the great laviathin from yugioh.

No that was a fan game SEGA just gave them permission to use they're characters. They also have a history of not making they're own games and this was the first time in a while they worked on one BUT with only 3 people designing the game and rest simply doing music or art.

Might only be 4 hours long if you're rushing through the story. but with all the bonus costumes, Stages, Collectibles, and more, you have WAY more content. It's not just about the main game, the End game matters too

Got it for Christmas on the Switch. Gonna be playing the Steam version next. I must say, that there is nothing in this game that is *offensively* bad. People are just throwing hate fuel to the fire, just to make things more worse. This "Sonic Forces is a really bad game" bandwagon needs to end. Just accept the fact that the game itself is average. Take a good look at the reviews, this game is a mixture of 5's/6's and mostly 7's. So most of it is positive feedback. I honestly don't think this game deserves as much hate as it gets. I'm just generally getting sick and tired of this fanbase already just bashing on the game without even trying it. Sorry for ranting on. Great review by the way though. I've given the game my thoughts & its a 6.9 or a 7/10 from me. Loved the music, the graphics, gameplay. Level design is a bit empty, the story was actually pretty well done actually, aside from some translation issues here and there if people were actually bothered to have a look and read the comics first and research the story about Infinate and the Phantom Ruby online. The controls feel a bit awkward at times (gives me a Sonic Heroes vibe actually lol), but aside from that, nothing overly major.
What's this about branding Sonic Forces itself as so dangerously-edgy? This ain't Shadow the Hedgehog. It's about as "edgy" as Sonic Heroes. Sonic even talks about the bonds of friendship and saving the environment at the end, for crying out loud. And how many other Sonic games even have an emotional, sappy song during the credits? Sonic Unleashed and... Yeah, that's about it.
This was Boom Knux we were talking about here, Goomba... Knux was dumbed down starting in that era... As in thinking? Not his strong point. So yeah, of course it only took Knux 90 seconds to come up with a plan that involved "Beating the shit out of everything."

Classic sonic is technically from an alternate timeline. Because of sonic generations and sonic mania sorta confirms this because sonic 4 isn't in the elevator even though modern sonic was in that game.
As a Sonic fan "So much wasted potential" Is Sonic's new catchphrase for his current outings. Forces doesn't feel like it has anything that is worth lasting appeal as even the Avatar can't get much mileage in the game. Some of the characters don't act any different or are complete 180s from who they once were. Tails by himself could stop Chaos with no emeralds hell he stopped Chaos powered by fucking FOUR emeralds. He cowers in fear upon seeing a zero powered Chaos. They can't decide on what Knuckles is supposed to be so it feels like giving him the resistance leader role was just to appease fans who don't like the bumbling idiot approach to his character. Also the dialogue is a classic translation issue that effects story. The "tortured" or "Lost it" weren't even in the original Japanese script but added in the English translations for reasons.....I don't even know.

that game is pretty good. also i seen the video where your sad about your viewers going down, dont worry its not just you. youtube is basically nuking anyones views who aint special to them.
I actually really enjoyed this game, even though it was waaay too short. It has good replayability with all the unlockables though.
Got it for Christmas on the Switch. Gonna be playing the Steam version next. I must say, that there is nothing in this game that is *offensively* bad. People are just throwing hate fuel to the fire, just to make things more worse. This "Sonic Forces is a really bad game" bandwagon needs to end. Just accept the fact that the game itself is average. Take a good look at the reviews, this game is a mixture of 5's/6's and mostly 7's. So most of it is positive feedback. I honestly don't think this game deserves as much hate as it gets. I'm just generally getting sick and tired of this fanbase already just bashing on the game without even trying it. Just bitching and whining over and over for years on end non stop over this bloody game as I predict. Get over it. It's done, you've given the game criticism "fans" now move on please.
Sorry for ranting on. Great review by the way though. I've given the game my thoughts & its a 6.9 or a 7/10 from me. Loved the music, the graphics, gameplay. Level design is a bit empty, the story was actually pretty well done actually, aside from some translation issues here and there if people were actually bothered to have a look and read the comics first and research the story about Infinate and the Phantom Ruby online. The controls feel a bit awkward at times (gives me a Sonic Heroes vibe actually lol), but aside from that, nothing overly major.
People need mindsets like yours, or else society's gonna be fucked.

What's this about branding Sonic Forces itself as so dangerously-edgy? This ain't Shadow the Hedgehog. It's about as "edgy" as Sonic Heroes. Sonic even talks about the bonds of friendship and saving the environment at the end, for crying out loud.
And how many other Sonic games even have an emotional, sappy song during the credits? Sonic Unleashed and... Yeah, that's about it.

Classic sonic is technically from an alternate timeline. Because of sonic generations and sonic mania sorta confirms this because sonic 4 isn't in the elevator even though modern sonic was in that game.

Is Sonic's new catchphrase for his current outings. Forces doesn't feel like it has anything that is worth lasting appeal as even the Avatar can't get much mileage in the game. Some of the characters don't act any different or are complete 180s from who they once were. Tails by himself could stop Chaos with no emeralds hell he stopped Chaos powered by fucking FOUR emeralds. He cowers in fear upon seeing a zero powered Chaos. They can't decide on what Knuckles is supposed to be so it feels like giving him the resistance leader role was just to appease fans who don't like the bumbling idiot approach to his character.
Also the dialogue is a classic translation issue that effects story. The "tortured" or "Lost it" weren't even in the original Japanese script but added in the English translations for reasons.....I don't even know.

When he did the thing at the end about the null space, I thought he was gonna do a Sonic mania thing or something, but I think this way was better
I agree with that null space part being cut content it was just so anticlimatic and ends with no buildup
