I appreciate that you still posted this video regardless of its “success”. Not only does it show us how to use a steam juicer but also reminds us that it’s OK for not everything to go right in the kitchen. Be blessed!
Here is a suggestion! What I do with my juicier steamer, when ready to fill a jar, I put the Jar in a hard plastic pitcher with a handle, fill the jar and take jar out with a jar lifter and let me tell you those jars with fresh juice are hot! I also put 3 marbles in my bottom water portion, (you can tell when the water is getting low). Yes, I find it takes all day to get enough juice to water bath a full batch. But we sure do enjoy the pure fresh juice. ENJOY.... Thank you for the video!
Good morning friend. You always work so hard in your kitchen. I’m so sorry this didn’t work just right. But I know you~you’ll do something wonderful with it. Cute cute apron🤗. Hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving Gay!
We win some we loose some, the worst part is your time is precious, sad that you spent all that time and did not get good results. I have been getting stuff of Lehman's for years, always been pleased with there products. On another note the vanilla bean peach jam I made the other day is to die for, I also used something I took out of a box I have had for 7 years, a maslin pan, the jam is a no pectin jam and some one told me to use a maslin pan if I had one, wish I had started using it seven years ago, now I will use it all the time, especially when making jam, first thing I noticed is the even heating, and the handles do not get hot, love it. You will get your use out of that juicer, always wanted one of those.
Good Morning Ms Gay I’m sorry your pear juice didn’t taste good 😌 I Enjoyed your video & the steamer seams to do a great job also 👍 I know your V-8 juice will be amazing 🤗 Have a blessed day
I was just watching Kym- the Wellness Homesteader’s video, Prepping for Comfort yesterday where she talked about the juice she made using a steam juicer. I thought I need to look back and see if she has videos using the juicer. Then this morning I see you have posted a video using the exact “gadget” I was wondering about! I haven’t yet watched the whole video but the comments lead me to believe this wasn’t as successful an endeavor as you had hoped for. I make grape jelly and juice from grapes that grow in my yard. I think this would be a much better method to extract the juice than using my jelly bag method. I will learn more about this juicer and maybe it will be on my “I need this gadget” list. Thank you for sharing your experience with the juicer and the pears.
Thank you for showing us this. I am sorry your pears were bland. Like everything im sure it was and is a learning experience!! Always good to see you take care!!
Thanks for watching! I went ahead and posted the video....it is a good learning video even if it didnt turn out to my liking!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!! An...Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Oh bless you for trying but you still got the goodness from the fruit to add to other things that might not need as much flavor like bread pudding or a cake batter 👍🏼
So sorry those pears didn’t have much flavor but thanks for showing the juice steamer and how it works! We certainly appreciate your efforts. Looking forward to the V8 juice video. Love the apron you are wearing. I always check out your fabrics even tho I know I wouldn’t be able to wear your aprons. Because of disc problems, I can’t wear aprons that go around the neck. So I just make my own using patterns that wrap across my back and don’t put any pressure on my neck. Yours are so gorgeous!
Awww....I am sorry about your neck problem. My friend has that problem, too! Hurts her . I sure appreciate you watching!!!!! I guess I learned a lesson on how to use the steamer even if I couldn't use the juice!!!!
Everyone I know that has a steamer like that ends up just loving it! I'm wondering if you let the rest of the pears just sit and ripen for awhile before cutting them up if they'd be any better? That was a lot of work Gay and my hands were hurting watching you cut them up. I'm so sorry you did all that work for nothing. So disappointing! We made V-6 juice one year and it turned out fantastic! We left it a little thick with a tiny bit of chunky in it. Yummy. I'm sure you'll have better luck with the steamer next time. I just bought 3 cases of the wide mouth pints today! I had run out with canning up my turkey. I was lucky enough to find a case of regular mouth lids last week so I snatched them up! Even though I don't need them right now, when I see them I go ahead and pick them up. I'm set with lids for quite awhile just being diligent looking for them. One of those little blessings the Lord gave with me being in the store at the right time....
I've never used a steamer juicer before. Thanks for sharing this! So sorry the pears weren't that good. Have a wonderful day! Take care and God Bless ❤️
Its never fun when our kitchen endeavors turn out to disappoint us. I've seen lots of people with this steamer We aren't a juice family or jelly family so it's not something I'm thinking I'll invest in. I have so many appliances as it, I wouldn't know where to store it lol. But it does look like a great investment if you do drink juice or eat jellies.
Hey Ms GAY, so sorry the juice didn't turn out as you hoped. I am wondering if you could use it to fill jars of fruit instead of a simple syrup. With no flavor it wouldn't change the taste of the fruit( unless my thinking is wrong). Some canned fruit says that it is canned with pear juice. Just a thought. Thank you so much for sharing your failures along with your victories. Take care stay safe and God bless y'all.-👍💜😎
I love my steam juicer. I am sorry your pears were not good. I used mine recently to make muscadine jelly. I have heard that the juicer won't juice tomatoes. If you use it I would love to see how it works. That was why I bought the juicer was to make V8 and I haven't tried it yet.
So sorry that all that work was for naught. But the fails always teach us a lesson. I know that was a lot of work. I bet the V8 juice will be great to make and can up.
Sounds like something that would happen to me. I think I would still try to make some jam out of it or at least store it in case the power goes out for something to drink. Worked your fingers to the bone. GOD had some reason for it I am sure. Maybe just a way to get some vitamins?
I have an unopened steamer. I was hoping to juice choke cherries June berries however I had a late heavy frost and the whole entire valley did not produce any fruit. I feel bad for you with all the work you did with the pears.
I'm sorry you did all that hard work and the juice wasn't tasty! I'm sure your next adventure with the steam juicer will turn out better. I believe it's also possible to make floral hydrosols using a steam juicer :-)
Hi Gay. I am sorry your pear juice did not turn out. It is so disappointing when you work so hard on something and it turns out a flop. Has happened to me more than once. You and Troy have a blessed week. Stay safe and stay well.
What a bummer the pears had no flavor! I was just gifted some from a friend of a friend. I thought they were Bartlet type and would be soft, but no, hard and crunchy. They tasted good but really gritty. So I made juice then jelly from them. I was lucky I knew they were sweet, or I might have wasted all that time canning sugar jelly! I didn’t think to taste the juice!
Bummer on tasteless pears, sorry you were on your feet for so long with nothing to show for it. Didn't your son tastes any of his own pears lol. Very nice juicer. Missouri Wrightchk
Oh! How disappointing is that? I've heard this Steam Juicer works well. We don't eat loads of jelly so I've never thought it would be something I'd use. My next purchases will be 2 Nesco brand electric canners. Thanks for the video.

Thank YOU for the tips. I just wish the pears had been sweet and tasty

Thank you!! 😊

Morning friend!!!!!! Yeah...win a few, loose a few!!!! It will be used for something! You have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that mine had no flavor either and didn’t know what happened. Thanks Gay for sharing God Bless
Sure was disappointing!!!

The juice steamer worked fine. My juice wasn’t sweet n tasty. Very bland. It’ll be great for tomato juice and any juice if the fruit is ripe and good
That’s why we make mistakes, so we can learn. Good job.
Yes. I guess so. 😍
Congrats on using your "new" juicer!!! Waiting to see your new Christmas apron material.
I plan a video first of the week.....
I have been wondering how the steamers worked. So glad you posted the video. I might just have to get a steamer now.
Glad it was helpful! It wasn't good juice....but the method worked perfectly!

Tip. You can order jars at Walmart.com if in stock. I got wide mouth pints. Limit 6. Free shipping. I did two orders. They were out of qts online.
I've never used a steamer juicer before. Thanks for sharing this! So sorry the pears weren't that good. Have a wonderful day! Take care and God Bless ❤️
Carol..it is neat contraption.....just had poor quality pears. It has rave reviews from lots of folks. I will definitely try again!!
Oh my all that work! I’m sorry it didn’t work out.
Be blessed my friend 💞
Thanks so much I did learn how to use the steamer! I guess there's a bright side to everything!!!!
As always very interesting and informative. Have really learned a lot from your tutorials.
Glad you like them! Makes me feel good!!!

Welcome to Apron strings!!!! I’m so glad you’re here!!!❤️❤️
Looking forward to the V-8 juice
Me too!!!!!
Well, some kitchen experiments don't go as we plan. Bummer for the juice--it sure looked pretty in the jar!
It did. I just knew it was gonna taste sweet and good. Oh well....I know how to use the steamer....
Aww Gay I’m sorry the pears weren’t tasty! Good point to taste the fruit first. Glad you found out before you spent more time!
I was so sad. 😳😩😩😂😂
@@ApronstringsGayJordan I bet!
Bummer about your pear juice. I would looooove to see a homemade V8 video.
I am anxious to make it. After thanksgiving....so stay tuned!!

I am glad I did it..needed to get used to the gadget

I just wanted to be real. I was so sad! lots of work for no goodness!!!
Would this work for making blackberry jelly? Would save the forever process of getting the seeds separated out!
I’m pretty sure it would. ❤️
Yes show us v 8 juice.
Thank you for watching. I will try to make some soon....

awwwww......I hope it makes V8. I will video when I do it!!!
Maybe you mix in other juice when you serve it? 🦃
Girl, it is like watered down ,barely flavored ....like ice melted in a juice leaving it weak and flavorless
So sorry that all that work was for naught. But the fails always teach us a lesson. I know that was a lot of work. I bet the V8 juice will be great to make and can up.
I can't wait to do v8!!!! I will bring yall along!!!

@@ApronstringsGayJordan I love it! One of my other favorite "discoveries" for canning is the Steam Canner. That's such a game-changer for me. xoxo
@@vallis1469 I have one and love it!!!!!
My question is why we need to steam and overheating the juice all the day while we can just drink it cold and fresh ⁉️⁉️
I don't know, I only tried it once....it didnt work for me on the pears as well as I wanted it to.
Oh No! Sorry it didn't work out.
yuk!!!! I sure tried. But, I am glad I know how to use it and will make V8!!!
That is too bad that you did all that work and not have good results. Very frustrating, plus your back aches. Thank you for the video, though! 😻
lol Back ache....product of too many years. hahaha
How b***** annoying!!! Hate it when that happens! Never happen again though :) xxx
